Yep - 2 vehicle code violations - blew a 0.11, I think, so a DUI or similar seems like the charge. Per Ch. 3 report a minute ago.

Sacramento.....welcome to the world of professional sports. We have to admit, that we have been pretty clean when it comes to matters of the law. I am just stunned that our real first public scrap with the law is the coach.

im just glad that it wasnt something worse...

a big surprise none the less

Worse could have been slamming his car into somebody and killing them I suppose. Kind of ironic given the discussion we've been having in the other forum about Malik Sealy.

Guess at least he wasn't at a strip club firing his gun in the air.

 as if the public image of the Kings needs another hit.

I'm guessing it might have had something with the divorce he's going/gone through.

Well, the bright side (if there is such a thing) is that he didn't kill anybody or get in an accident or have a carload of players twice as drunk.

Hell, in this day and age, we're lucky he wasn't transporting 50 pounds of pot across state lines.

But, this doesn't look good for a new coach. I remember a college football coach in the SEC did something stupid while drunk and lost his job.

Will this be a non issue as far as the team and players trusiting in him?? That is all i am worried about i could care less how he looks to the media.

I wouldn't think it would be a real issue with trust.

The larger issue is respect. If they start to see him as "one of the guys" or "out-of-control" then it will probably translate into on-the-court issues, I would think.

OK. We can not reduce this to a "it could be worst" scenario. Because if this were Ron Artest, YA'LL WOULD BE SCREAMING FROM THE ROOFTOPS TO TRADE THIS LOSER.

I am looking forward to see where this goes on this board. Because I have a feeling that this is going to be a classic sociology case of "double standards".

Listen, the ONLY mitigating factor here is that this may have been a first offense, and I am generally somewhat forgiving of a one time mistake. With Ron it would have been a pattern and a very dangerous sign.

Nonetheless, I have had 4 friends and another 5-6 acquaintances killed by drunk drivers in my lifetime, and if I saw Muss right now I'd probably knock him on his scrawny ***. What he did was incredibly stupid and dangerous to other people. And for a coach...well that just is amazing. I am not sure I can ever recall an NBA coach being arrested for DUI, although I would imagine it might have happened at some point.

He got lucky, we got lucky, that nobody got hurt or killed. Now all I hope for is that this was an isolated incident that sullies his rep, but does not destroy it/him. I will say that there are certain franchises (Phoenix comes to mind) that might have fired him for this sort of thing.

Dear Muss-
Friends don't let friends drive drunk. Take the Limo next time........or call a cab, or make Amunsdon drive, he looks too young to drink. Thanks.

I wouldn't be calling for a trade, but there is a big difference between Muss and Artest.

If Artest did it - it would be another step down the slippery slope that confirms he is a bad egg and basketball's version of Owens. It would be "trend-worthy".

I believe this is Muss' first time doing something dumb and I can forgive that.

That's not "double standards", that's just seeing trends and worrying about them.

Heck, he looks too young to drive! ;)

Muss may have to start paying for cabs if he loses his license. Heck, maybe his workout will now include jogging to work, as he only lives a few minutes away from ARCO.
