Alright board was getting silent so I decided to start a new thread up....
What moves do you think the Kings should make from here on?
Should they make more, or just leave it how it is?

Whats your thoughts?

Not including a "bonding trip" to Vegas like the T-Wolves, I still think that Petrie has one more move left before the season.

I can't decide if it needs to be
a) something with Darious [sign oe sign and trade]
b) solid back-up for Peja
c) bench player that gives us a "spark" or
d) finding a way to get KG!

of course it could always be
e) get Otag to come back as a Royal Court Dancer

At this point, I don't think we're going to see anything else major come along. The acquisitions of Bonzi and SAR were what Petrie wanted to accomplish and he did that. In addition, he added Cisco to the mix.

All in all, we do have a competitive team. Now we have to start focusing on making them a cohesive team as well. If anything, any final decisions will be made after training camp - during the pre-season shakeouts.

EDIT: And we can get Barnes back without "dumping" Corliss.

Ya I agree a bit, were much stronger then last year, but I still think theres one more move, after Spurs aquired Finley & NVE I think we need a little more if we really wanna compete, I have a feelin it'll be Corliss for some reason, he just dosen't fit...

Maybe pickin up a legit back-up center with more size then Skinner, We could prolly pick up a decent one with a Skinner, Corliss trade..

Agreed.

People seem to want to make more moves, and maybe getting someone in return for Darius or getting Darius back is something we can do, but other than that and signing Barnes, I don't see any moves happening.

We have a starting lineup of all-star caliber players, and a very solid bench. We have a very good coach, and up-and-coming talent.

Petrie likes what he sees. At least I think so .

I know that it is TDOS, but I am actually excited about our team. I can't wait to see how they play together. At first, I was not all that happy about Bonzi, but now I am all about starting over! This could be a really good TEAM. I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE THEM PLAY!!

I think any moves from here on out will be strictly cosmetic, nothing major.

I'd like, and partly hope, to see two things. At least one.:

1. Get another SF with/without Corliss or an SF/SG combo player.

2. Get a decent/solid back-up for Brad, Skinner would be fine, but I'd rather see a 6'11" (6'10" would be alright)-7 footer, and Skinner could split at PF/C.

I dunno... I think Brian could fill the role pretty good actually now that I think about it... It's just he looked so helpless against Jerome James in the playoffs and thats what I worry about next year, that our centers will get abused..

OF COURSE WE CAN!!! The theme of the night for me is "Let's be positive!" or maybe it is "I Believe in Miracles!"

Either way, I am going to say "YES!" and if not, then I am still going to LOVE watching (or listening to/ reading about) every minute of this season!

If we somehow trade Kenny for a sparkplug SF, I love the idea of Skinner coming off the bench at the 4 spot. Gives us size and some shot-blocking skills what we don't have in SAR. And then somehow grab a Melvin Ely type player to back up Brad.

I really want Matt Barnes back, he would come for the vets minimum, and he is nothing but a hustle players who pounds the boards, plays solid D, and has been working on his outside shot with C Webbs shooting coach to fix the hitch in his shot. That is the one final roster move that we should do, that doesn't involve S&T or just a trade in general, not to say I am against that if we get the right player in return.

Why? Is it because he is one of the few players on the Kings with a post game? because he has size for his position? because he has playoff experience? Because he is a solid veteran player?

Honestly, I like this team as is. If we trade Kenny or Corliss we will most likely get bloated contracts and less (or barely equal) value in return. And since these guys have experience here, why not just keep them around? And if they look good, maybe we can even swing them midseason. These team is very deep and talented already, so why try looking around for more value when we could easily just end up destroying a good think that we've got going here?

I agree Bill, it's not like we have to do a trade for another big or SF. I think we do pick up at least one of them though.

Roles -- Kenny/Corliss have none right now, and we still have a pronounced defensive weakness up front. And neither guy is going to increase his trading value next season either. Corliss in fact may barely touch the floor, and while coming off the bench behind big minute stars Kenny will be hard pressed to come close to his annual numbers as a semi/low minute starter.

The "good thing" we've got going here involves nearly $20million dollars invested in a trio of tweener PF/SFs -- that's just about unheard of outside of New York, and is clearly an issue. Meanwhile we've got only one proven NBAer over 6'9", and only one proven defensive player in the frontcourt. Its not as if the hole to be plugged is sneaky and flying below the radar. The only question is whether we have the wherewithal to plug it, and whether any sane GM actually wants our tweeners' contracts.
