Moreland sent to Reno

We are just to stacked atm have to start sending players to Reno :)

I think this is a good step for his development. He should spend time this season in Reno to get the minutes he needs and to build his confidence but also spend time with the Kings so that he gets a feel for the jump in competition and what he'll need to do to succeed on the NBA level.

I think we all assumed that Moreland was a long term project and that anything he gave us this season would be a bonus. But I'm hoping he's a bench contributor next season and in the mix to compete for the starting PF spot in two years.

Was Ray Mac sent to Reno? I honestly can't remember. Either way, I think this will be good for Moreland in the long run.
I think Ray had two different stints with Reno last year. If Moreland isn't going to get on the floor, he should be getting some play in Reno. Good move.

Ray's 2 trips to Reno really did help him then he got, for a 2nd rounder, a lot of minutes for Kings. Moreland seems to have a good BBIQ and plays to his strength. Needs to add muscle and weight for sure but in Reno perfect "growing" ground. And since he is under NBA contract and assigned to Reno don't think he is one of the 4 protected slots each team has. Guess we all will need to see a Reno game or so for some real feedback.

He'll get a lot of development in our new dleague system. And by a lot I mean he'll run up and down the court not defending anyone and watching teammates shoot massive amounts of 3s.

No idea what players have had huge block stats in the D-League, but Moreland might go full 'swat team' against those guys. Should be interesting. I'll be pulling up some of their games on YouTube again

Wonder if he'll get to play in a real system or not there. the reports make me nervous.

But regardless, we are healthy and winning right now, and are not going to have the sort of margins of victory where we can employ a human victory cigar, so makes total sense to send him down and get him some playing time and see if he shows big.

This will be good for him. Get some type of playing time and can work on his game over there. Maybe next season or late in the season we can slowly bring him along on the active roster but that would be unlikely probably...

Getting used to banging inside is much more useful to what Kings need from him, than polishing his handles and passing, though that will have it uses as well.

Moreland grew up as a guard and then BAM had a growth spurt to 6'10

He will be Paul George 2.0, without the injury

yeah, he's not going to be Paul George, and we don't need a poor man's Paul George wannabe. Taht's what signing Terrence Williams would be about. :)

His path to usefulness with us is being an athletic rim protecting big man. And at least somewhat promisingly he did appear to have bulked up significantly by the time camp rolled around. he was way too skinny in summer league.
