Unless they don't have soul food
But this time we'd be trading for a small with injury history. I doubt it would be worth the Kings' time.Do it.
It’ll be our Webber for Richmond moment of the 2020’s.
Yeah, Ja is one of those star talents who arrives in a burst of fireworks, but is unable to meet the moment when defenses adjust and the pressure arrives, in addition to being poorly equipped to deal with the responsibility and accountability that comes with being a star-level NBA talent. He's still got time to turn it around, but his stock is dropping precipitously around the league, I have to imagine.
All this talk about Morant…I’m more interested in Jaren Jackson Jr if they move Morant for a rebuilding package.
At that point, they’ll only have a 26 year old Jaren Jackson Jr and a bunch of younger guys, and although I like some of those young guys, I wouldn’t say any of them project to be all star offensive talents which you need next to JJJ.
I like the makings of a lineup that looks like…
PG - ???
SG - Ellis
SF - Murray
PF - Jackson Jr
C - Sabonis
Obviously, that PG spot will be key. Perhaps our 2026 1st turns out to be a high pick and we draft a PG with all star potential to give this group a high ceiling or perhaps Clifford breaks out and proves to be a star in the making and shows he has the chops to be a PG (Ellis can defend the PGs on the defensive end).
What makes you think we couldn’t make a competitive offer for their rebuild?JJJ is young enough to keep during a rebuild and if they traded him we wouldn’t have a competitive offer vs other teams
What makes you think we couldn’t make a competitive offer for their rebuild?
Thoughts? It sucks.
No idea why Memphis would throw Jackson in there

Only the Kings would somehow turn a positional logjam into a deficit. GG’s lowkey been bad since his rookie season so that’s another buy low prospect in the move.

Any trade for Ja sucks. The way the team is constructed has nothing to do with it.the way the team is constructed any trade for anyone under 6’6 sucks. If we had ellis starting and a big wing next to Keegan this would be a good trade but a backcourt of Ja/Lavine with Sabonis at center is terrible defensively
I would not personally touch him. He's a selfish immature person that clearly hasn't learned any lessons over the past few years. Between clearly trying to push the line with celebrations that border on mocking the NBA's decision to suspend him for the gun issues, and then these most recent issues, he's not worth it. He is an athletic marvel which a game that likely will not age well over the next few years.
I don't know, y'all's personnel, maybe? What makes you think we couldn’t make a competitive offer for their rebuild?
Do you think there are any other considerations other than personnel?I don't know, y'all's personnel, maybe?
I'm not in favor of going all in on Morant. But -Only the Kings would somehow turn a positional logjam into a deficit. GG’s lowkey been bad since his rookie season so that’s another buy low prospect in the move.
I suppose the Grizzlies might be willing to trade Jackson, Jr. to the Kings if you're willing to give up, like, all of your FRPs for the foreseeable future... Are you of the opinion that Jackson, Jr. is worth that much?Do you think there are any other considerations other than personnel?
Any trade for Ja sucks. The way the team is constructed has nothing to do with it.
The Sacramento Kings are currently listed as the betting favorite to acquire Ja Morant, with odds of +400, according to SportsBetting.ag
It's a no for me. No way they should be considering unprotected 1sts. Lunacy... so it'll probably happen
I agree but if we’re being realistic we will be one of the teams in on him he’s a big name and we do need a pg Schroeder should not be starting on a serious team. If we didn’t have Lavine a Ja trade would be tolerable.. if the fox trade was for say vassal and Schoan you’d have three great defenders and size next to Ja and Sabonis
There it is
Morant has more years and if he is now an albatross I'm not giving up assets to get off LaVine who for all we know could opt out or restructure to remain with the team but with a better roster next year. The only Morant trade I might be "slightly" interested in would be LaVine+ a FRP for Ja. It has to be a true buy-low type scenario where Mem just wants him out, they keep a player that can keep them competitive, but not on long-term money along with draft capital
