Monster Park.

I don't care what they call it. It's been Candlestick Park as long as I can remember (and remember, I'm old), and it will ALWAYS be Candlestick Park.

I do, however, like the idea of Monster Park. They could feature Godzilla, Rodan and Mothra as mascots!!

;)

Yeah. It WAS Candlestick again, because 4-Com's name lease ran up a few years back.
I was being facetious. I'm saying, I don't care what they change the name to, it's always been, and will always be The Stick to me.

When 3com got the rights in 95, I called it The Stick then, and whoever gets it after Monster I'm still calling it Candlestick. :)

I don't think its that Monster. Its Monster cable.
That's my point. Monster Cable is paying the bill, but it isn't "Monster Cable Park". When I hear Monster Park it only makes me think of Monster.com. Who's ever heard of Monster Cable and how will the name of the park make people any more aware of their product?

Got it.

My guess it that because of San Francisco's recent decline the naming rights probably were fairly inexpensive compared to other stadiums. It's great advertisement for people in the Bay Area because they've all heard of Monster Cable. Probably a marketing push to try and combat Comcast from taking over in their market like they have everywhere else already.

You are exactly right though, they should of named it Monster Cable Park or something.

i'm from the bay area, and i have never heard of monster cable. i too thought they meant monster.com

that place is and always will be the stick. or candlestick. no one is going to call it monster park, just like no one called it 3 com. what a load that is.
