Since he is restricted I think the Kings should just wait and see what the market is and then decide if they want to match. If someone wants to overpay for him than let him go.

There was little blurb in the paper yesterday saying his agent first wanted a multi-year deal starting at over a million and he now indicates(based on the market) that his client may want the full mid-level exception.

That's the kind of things agents are supposed to say... whether someone actually offers that is an entirely different matter.

agreed, any offer won't be a killer to match. i would hate to see mo evans walk from this team. he has tons of potential and has shown promise. personally, evans and bibby are the only two i think are "must keeps"

I am in favor of the Kings keeping Evans because of what he can bring to the SG position that Garcia and Martin can't, namely a guy who can guard the bigger 2's in the league. Quentin Richardson, Bonzi Wells, Jimmy Jackson and their ilk will pose defensive problems for our young SGs.

Also, I want Evans' mentality in terms of defense and rebounding. In limited action, Martin has shown a nose for the ball but his rebounds come more from knifing into the lane for a carom than solid boxing out, which is why I think Mo would more consistently provide boards from the SG spot. A nice bonus considering Peja doesn't hit the glass like he is capable.

Finally, I like Evans because he can also spell Peja at the SF spot against most opponents. I've always liked Corliss, but defensively he's a sieve against SFs that play on the wings. Evans would provide another option and give Adelman more versatility.

I'd put re-signing Evans as a higher priority than bringing back Songaila. Now, if Petrie can move Kenny Thomas, then I'd hope Darius is brought back.

Actually, if you look at the 48 minute averages, Evans LED THE TEAM in the fewest turnovers per 48 minutes.

That's not exactly poor decision making.

He also had fewer fouls per 48 minutes than Bobby Jackson and Matt Barnes (not to mention virtually all of the big men on the team).

How is that relevant? The per-48 minutes stats factor in how much he played so they even out stats when someone played many more minutes than other people. And DNPs don't count toward averages.

Anyway, I agree with you that his passing needs some work, he was last on the team in assists per 48 minutes.

Mins per game is a huge factor. Have you ever played basketball for 48 mins straight? You start to get tired and a little sloppier... Though I guess these guys are professionals and are in way better shape than the average Joe, but it still factors.
