Mets blow a 2-0 lead late and Texas wins 3-2
SF now tied with Mets with Webb vs Keyshawn in about 30 minutes to go ahead of Mets

Casual baseball fans think Lee Jueun is the best.

But fans who really know baseball know Lee Dahye is the best, and it's not even close.

It's impossible to stop watching these.

Ryan Walker almost sold another Verlander win today. Luckily Melvin pulled him before he could complete his meltdown.

For a guy who admits he’s trying to hang on to reach 300 wins, the Giants failed him with Ryan Walker(blew atleast 3 Verlander wins) and bad offense. Verlander should’ve had atleast 10 wins this season. Giving him a small shot for 300 with 2-3 similar seasons. But that’s probably out of reach now since this season was almost a complete wash with only 4 wins despite a sub 4 ERA.

Giants fire Bob Melvin

161-163

This group should’ve been better

Time for some new blood. Glad Buster proving to not be the sit on his hands type.

Maybe just a bit of bad luck that we blew up our bullpen+randy Rod getting hurt for all the collapses after we went on our run to end this year, but pretty clearly Melvin was not getting enough out of this group. And just from a process standpoint, a GM should be allowed to pick his own manager and not a holdover from the previous regime.

Bochy is available. Yes, he’s old but he won a title with Texas. It’s a fairly veteran team who would respond to him. Plus he is terrific at managing a bullpen.

Giants should look for something newer and more long term.

I think for whatever managing Bochy has left it will be “maybe this year the last” or 3 more seasons at most. Thats not what the Giants should be looking for. I think if he was all in on managing then he would’ve re-upped with Texas.

Plus they announced he’s entering a front office role and this was all announced after Melvin was fired. So I don’t think Bochy is looking to come back. I think he’s entering another retirement.

Padres really gave away one of the best prospects in baseball to shore up their bullpen only for their offense to put them in an immediate hole in the postseason.

Dodgers look just about unstoppable. Don’t see anybody out of the ALCS touching them.

Light work of the Brewers. Cant say I mind seeing them get whooped. I hate how they use openers in the playoffs. I think most had enough of that nonsense. Use a starting rotation and use it correctly. Like the team kicking your ass does.

Historic night for Shohei. I hate all things Dodgers but damn if that wasn’t the most impressive single game performance I’ve ever seen or heard of in the Majors. 6 shut out innings. 10 Ks. 3 HRs. What?!?!

Yeah, I'm right there with you. Dodgers are probably in my top three in terms of most hated sports teams (behind the Eagles and Lakers, and honestly, I probably hate them a little more than I do the Lakers, but slightly less than I do the Eagles), but damn, Son!!! Shohei is a MONSTER! That 4th inning blast was one of the most impressive things I've ever seen on the diamond.

Unfortunately, you are most likely correct. As much as I would like to see either Seattle or Toronto take the Dodgers down in the World Series, I just don't see it.
