I don't mind the retaliatory HBP. I just think it's kind of a waste to open the preseason with a HBP against a guy like Prince Fielder.

I mostly agree, and I think holding a grudge for 6 months is a bit trite, but if they actually were still bitter about something that happened in September may as well get it out of the way now so it doesn't affect the regular season.

There's not going to be any suspension or ejection, so I don't know how it would affect the regular season, but whatever.

Giants on TV tonight!

So psyched for the season to begin!!!

The Giants extended deals with Cain (4.5, 8, 15), Affeldt (4.5, 4.5, 5) and Wilson (4.4, 6.5, 8.5).

It is good to see that the Giants are not afraid to spend to keep their key players. You build teams around pitchers like Matt. Jeremy was a great setup man last year and Brian is a solid closer. I still think that we gave a little bit too much to these relievers. It would have been OK 1-2 years ago but not this off-season. Still a good thing to do!

However, I have a question why not to sign a longer deal with Tim? They only bought his arbitration years.
