Miller and K9 + 2nd round pick for RASHEED

Miller isn't exactly a fit for Detroit's system. In fact, he's almost the exact opposite of that. All the whiny attitude for half the talent? AND Afflalo? Why would Detroit want to do that?

Wasn't Rasheed already proposed three times during TDOS? Dude, just look it up. My response there is the same as it is now. In fact:

I think the Kings can get more than Sheed for Miller. Miller should be traded for youth/pick/expirings, not just a "one year sooner" sort of trade.

Actually, Brick said it better. It applies to Randolph, but it works here, too:

Well I suppose at least you are consistent -- if you are not going to recognize the necessity of a rebuild in the first place, no reason not to become instantly impatient and want to short circuit it as soon as we start, right?

What you don't understand with all the standard "winning is the demeanor of any real team" nonsense, is you're not trying to win. Or rather not understanding how to win. You might as well paint a big ole L on your forehead, walk into a prison shower and pick up a bar of soap. There are rules and tactics to every game. And none of them, and I mean basically none of them, involve constantly charging forward as hard as you can for every instant and every moment. The very essence of tactics is knowing how to conserve your strength, how to build it, and how and when to apply it. What you suggest is nothing more nor less than fool's gold. There is a reason that substance garnered its name.

Now is the time to build strength. To take a break and develop players and acquire assets. That is what a rebuild is. Done well, and with cap room maintained, in two years we will be maybe be ready to make some noise again. Done poorly, half assed and short circuited by impatience, we never will.

I remember now.... But Detroit is not going to re-sign RW. He should be moved. And Miller is going nowhere fast. BTW, Rasheed is expiring, and Afflalo is the pick. Miller for expiring and pick....but i probably wont work. Detroit would have too many Lambeer/Miller comparisons.

Miller is going nowhere fast? He drastically improved last year, and if by some chance we find ourselves in the playoffs in the next couple of years his veteran play will help us even if it's off the bench.

I say let him expire with the Kings, and then go from there. If when he expires the Kings are making a playoff run I say sign him again for vet minimum for a year, and let him play behind Hawes. I would seriously rather have a veteran Brad Miller than a veteran Jarron/Jason Collins type player in a heartbeat.

Exactly. We don't want to bring an attitude like Sheed to Sacramento...

I think it's safe to say FakeInjury is more troll than not. He didn't deny it when it was put to him - I believe he said something about posters liking him because he's ridiculous. Don't quote me on that, but it was something equally silly.

AS GOOD AS HE WAS, Rasheed will be a big gamble not worth taking at the expense of a double-double and passing/playmaker center like Miller, even if it means getting rid of a less-than-NBA-talent player like K9.

Rasheed is aging fast, known to play poorly when not fully motivated, and whines a lot on almost every call - such negative qualities are almost exactly the same as Miller's which we don't like watching. Plus attitude-wise, Rasheed is more likely to be a cancer to the team than Miller. We don't want another Ron Artest, lest we want to be back to the same drama all over again.

Even if coupled with a second-round pick it will not be worth the trade.

What kind of talent can you get in a second round pick anyways? You will be lucky if you get a Martin. The most you can get is a Salmons and Garcia type of players - second stringers who think they are so good that they have the propencity to ball-hog. So, even if coupled with a second-round pick, the Rasheed for Miller would not be to the great advantage of the Kings.

Just last season, Miller had shown he could still be a double-double which is quite outstanding for an aging center. He could still provide us the quality center we need as we wait for Hawse to be fully developed.

To me, the Kings have the right pieces at #1, #2, and #5, with UDRIH ( with a decent alternate on Bjax and Bobby Brown ), MARTIN ( with Garcia, and even Douby ), and MILLER ( with a future center on Hawse ) respectively. We don't want to break these decent pieces of the puzzle ( at #1, #2, and # 5 ) for the sake of getting the other pieces ( on #3 and #4 ), unless it is a "MUST DO" like in the case when we got rid of selfish players like Artest and Bibby.

I don't want to perpetually keep on breaking our decent pieces over and over again and always end up short of having a more or less balanced, or complete team.

Rendered your point well. I cannot disagree with a word of it. Miller is quite outstanding for an aging center, that's why i was suggesting picking up an outstanding aging center in exchange. I agree, the kings have run out of "must-do" trades, and that is a very good thing. It will allow the players to forget about the other things that come with playing in the NBA, and focus purely on the games. Beno has some monster potential any given night, and so does Martin and Miller. Miller is already 5 games behind, and that will bode poorly for the overall record after 5.
