Mike Brown hired as Head Coach

If we are being genuine about this, Mike Brown (on paper) is probably the best coach the Kings hired since Adelman (certainly Joerger).
I really loved Malone and I thought he would develop into a great coach.
From the list of 7, Brown is the one that made most sense for this roster. Established two "starts" to build around. The team is clearly in a win now mode. A team in need of structure and defensive improvement.
I feel like this is the first step in the right direction. Now its on Monte to get the roster to a required level for this team to be a play off coach. A bit of luck in the lottery and a bit of smart trading and FA signings and this could work.
Time will tell but I think this is a step in the right direction

This is a very interesting time in the NBA. These aren't super teams making it to the end right now and the only two on paper in the Lakers and Nets are getting older and if they don't come back things can remain open as long as you can somewhat defend pick and roll and have some degree of talent that can be versatile on both ends around your main stars.

A breakdown of the Warriors amazing defense that Mike Brown supposedly implemented when he took over. Granted, we don't have a Green to quarterback our defense, but it shows that Brown is a forward thinker.
If he can make Curry into a decent defender, then Fox should be able to as well. Plus, we have a trio of dogs on defense in Holiday, DDV, and Mitchell. I think Brown has some stuff to work with.

This team isn't that team but that playing up and aggressive rather than playing 3 feet off the perimeter is what's needed. Sabonis is the nonfit because the Warriors run Dray at that spot in the death lineups. I personally think Domas can do some of those things though. He's got quick feet and he's strong. He'll have to play up farther on pick and roll though.
today our defensive pitbulls are Mitchell or DDV but they could be looking to draft one in the frontcourt or trade or? That's the neat thing about having flexibility by not trading our picks for the next 7 years, and having the MLE plus expected cap room next season. Lots of flexibility. Interesting to see what the vision is. I don't think Brown takes this job if he doesn't see potential and share a vision with Monte. He knows if he can't succeed here he won't get another head coaching gig.
