Brown ain’t a miracle worker.
I'm just excited to actually see the pieces be put in place for us to even have a shot at the playoffs:
-Got the 2nd star in Sabonis at the deadline. 2 Top 30 guys to actually focus a build with role guys around
-Putting together some role player talent. Found Trey Lyles/Damian Jones as quality back-ups and bought low on DDV, who likely is our starting 2. Davion came on at the end of the year.
-All current and future draft capital. Didn't sacrifice the future for a Jerami Grant type for a foolish push for the play-in
-Conducted an actual coaching search with 6 of 7 really solid names (And I'd bet Jackson was only included because Vivek wanted him to be)
-Let the mysterious shadow GM, Joe Dumars go after another attempted coup for power under the Vivek era.
-Let Catanella walk, although seemingly very good at his job, was not from the Monte regime
-Hired Mike Brown, known defensive specialist and architect of the dominant Warriors defense of the last 8 years. For a franchise that's probably been the worst defensive organization the last 15 years, huge.
It's all there. Championship team? no, unless Davion becomes Gary Payton, Fox tries on defense and if we win the lottery for a chance at Chet/Jabari. But I think the pieces are here to be a 5-6 seed in the very near future with the right finishing moves. And for a team that just needs to get this playoff monkey off it's back... that's fine.
Let’s see Fox and Sabonis together for more than 9 games first. Could be better than you think!2.5 years, btw. That’s how long I give it.

Meh, but all they need is meh. Just play the Fox and the Ox the right way and if wins don't follow, they weren't coming anyway.
Brown ain’t a miracle worker.
Brown has been fascinated with running a Princeton offense since his Lakers stint and if you couple him running a pseudo Princeton offense through Domas and Fox with his typical defensive improvements, that’s pretty much all this team needs to be functional on most nights.Meh, but all they need is meh. Which might actually make him the best fit. They don't need a miracle worker trying to conjure up some genius crap. Just play to strengths, get some legit wings that can switch and defend, and emulate some of what these modern teams are doing. You know, the ones left in the playoffs right now?
If Brown is as good as some folks think he is, he’ll bet on the Ox and build everything around him.
You build it around the duo if he's smart.
Can’t wait until we start blaming him because we’re still terrible. Nothing’s changing.
A duo.

Nope, there's a clear duo and Monte has already been pumping it. Sorry, Monte wasn't going to move Fox dude. Probably never was. As soon as he sat and sat it was clear they were showcasing the other guys.

Monte won’t, but the next GM will.

Not sure if conspiracies have ever been more mainstream…so guessing no?Your post just reminded me... Did we stop making those X-Files sci-fi conspiracy shows? Was Fringe the last one?
Not sure if this was posted here, but I saw this:
A breakdown of the Warriors amazing defense that Mike Brown supposedly implemented when he took over. Granted. We don't have a Green to quarterback our defense, but it shows that Brown is a forward thinker.
Who is this team’s Draymond?
Two WeeksAnyone know a typical timeline for filling a staff?
today our defensive pitbulls are Mitchell or DDV but they could be looking to draft one in the frontcourt or trade or? That's the neat thing about having flexibility by not trading our picks for the next 7 years, and having the MLE plus expected cap room next season. Lots of flexibility. Interesting to see what the vision is. I don't think Brown takes this job if he doesn't see potential and share a vision with Monte. He knows if he can't succeed here he won't get another head coaching gig.Who is this team’s Draymond?
