Mike Bibby

Just some dude who happens to wear #10 for the Kings ;)

Seriously though, he had a great game, although a few mishaps here and there, a great game.

The bench's reaction as well as Chris picking up Mike was priceless.

There are no Kings Allstars this year. I hope the coaches exclude them also.
 
All kidding aside, Mike Bibby was huge tonight! His second triple-double ... AND it comes in the retro jerseys on TNT. Another jinx gone!!!

I especially liked how, while he was talking to Cheryl Miller, he saw his son and motioned for him to come and stand next to him.

A game like this shows, once again, why we all need to thank Geoff Petrie on a daily - if not hourly - basis. It's his vision that has assembled this team. Even the TNT crew gave him major props tonight, concluding with the "although Doug was really an important part of the Kings team, Petrie has apparently done the right thing again. Mobley gives them so much fire-power that they're going to be very hard to stop."

Oh yeah!!!! I like it!!! VF21 really likes it!!!!!

she like its...she likes it ALOT. (movie quote from sum movie). i was glad to see lebron was not drooled over this game. this game did show the kings are a family both on and off the court. i thought that when bibby's son came over it just capped off a great night for him.
 
that was one awesome kings game!!!! GREAT job by mike bibby

and i have a cool story to tell :D i was watching on the big screen in the lobby of our dorms with this cute guy in my class ( hehehehe) and he was rooting for the cavs ( from ohio) and as the kings BLEW them out in the 3rd, he started rooting for bibby to get his triple double. we were going crazy, every time someone shot we were like MISS MISS!!! and when they did we were like MIKE!!!! MIKE!!! and he *finally* got that rebound and we both started cheering. he left after that, but i ran up to my room and finished watching.

ok maybe that was a lame story, but hey mike got his triple double and the kings kicked some major butt WOOOO HOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

I noticed LBJ was not agressive in that game. Like only couple times he slash to the basket, more jump shots! He had no energy and very much not in the game i think.

Not what I known of LeBron capable of playing. Maybe Pedja is really a good defender ;)

Bibby had a double digit rebounds? Pedja should be ashame ;) Brad, Webb, Divac, Christie already had a triple double. Cmon Pedja, triple double next game.... :)

Well, I dont know about that...he had a definite off game, much like the whole Cavs team...might have been their legs after playing last night...who knows. Great game by our guys to take advantage of this and not let them hang around in this one for long, like alot of times this season.

Congrats on your 2nd triple double, Mike!!

I didn't know Bibby was going to have a triple double until he got the last rebound and I saw the whole Kings bench jumping like kids. Then I knew he got a triple double. Hehe. I heard the last 4 mins Mike played, his teammates were trying to tip him the ball or he'll be in the opposite side to get the last rebound. So it took him a while to get it.

Love that Bibby block on LeBron! Bibby's been doing quiet a few blocks this season! :)

It is important around here. Mike has been close several times this season. He earned this one.
And considering the last 2 minutes in which he needed 2 rb and a assists and seeing his teamates moving away so he can get a rebound and shooting on his first pass - one could argue that there is no difference between this and what R. Davis did. It certainly looked wierd at the end.
It left a small mark on a otherwise excelent performance.

Very big difference between Mike's and R.Davis's. Well for starters Mike obviously didn't throw the ball off his own backboard just to record a rebound for his triple double. Not only was Mike well aware of his stats(which doesn't matter if it's towards a triple-double or not, Mike always has been aware of his highs and lows on his stat.....has been since Arizona) his teammates were aware of it as well. If it were a close game and Mike was just trying to pad his own at the expense of the game.....I'd complain, but it's a blowout win so why not.

I seem to recall last year when Brad played against the Pacers(at home), the team knew that he was close to a triple double and wouldn't be taken out of the game until he recorded that 10th assist. Bobby got a nice steak dinner out of it for hitting the shot.
 
I actually agree that it was a little weird. Assists were totally legit BTW, but the last rebound = er...? But we were blowing them out, we didn't play guys inappropriately until the end of the game to get them stats, and one had a feeling that this was a team thing (and likely a Webber led thign) rather than Mike being selfish. So just a shrug. Icing on the cake. Have absolutely no doubt Mike was just having fun and would have traded the rebound in a minute to enure our victory, where Ricky Davis was all about me, me, me and the team was irrelevant.

OK, but doesn't it (personal record, triple-double, whatever) somehow lose on its "meaning" now ? I'm asking this 'cause in my opinion it does.
Or they ought count 'em separatly ;) , triple-doubles in blowouts and those in close contests ;)

Yeah I really liked that, too. Sweet... Mike was great last night, and it was fun to watch the guys help him achieve the triple-double and how they were celebrating after he did. :) Just plain fun! :)
 
Any one who complains about Bibby padding his stats just did not watch the same game I did. He played 2 1/2 quarters of great selfless ball on a night he was hot. He passed beceause guys were open, he worked for rebounds, and he shot well. Sure late in the third when the Kings were up by 20 points he started directing players to help round out his numbers and caped it off with a give a rebound in the fourth, but what was he supposed to do to challnage himself? It's not like the game held any more challange. If he were padding stats at the teams expense or manufacturing rebounds off his own intentional misses that would be one thing, but leading hs team to a blow out of the number one team in the east, while orchestrating final numbers for a triple double, I'll never complain about THAT!
 
i was nervous when a timeout was called (at about the 5-6 minute mark in the 4th)and mike still needed one rebound.. i was hoping he'd get the rebound cause it's not everyday he gets a chance to grecord a triple double.. i was so happy to see him still in the game after the timeout.. i think his teammates wanted him to be out there till he got his last rebound (they did the same thing for brad --to get an assist) and that was a great reaction from his the kings! everyone was smiling and laughing and hugging and everything :)

you could see mike going for the rebounds towards the end of the game.. it was so obvious.. and it was obvious, too, that his teammates wanted him to get it.. :) when they focused on the bench, after webb hugged mike, webb started immitating mike when he got his last rebound..

WTG mike :D
