Mike Bibby on TNT inside the NBA

I don't believe it. He did the tease for the upcoming Bibby section and Charles didn't make a snide comment about the Kings. Oh my - I hope he's not ill or something.

Mike's new nickname: Blinky!! (He's had so many nicknames between me and my family/friends).

I don't know what it is about that boy. I absolutely adore him (cute as a button, don't you know) but he's so darned easy to make fun of.

I kid. I kid 'cause I love.

It was taped.

And he for the most part gave the typical responses

Did anyone miss it and really really want to know what he said?

Maybe Charles has Voisinitis.

Thanks for the update, Reina - even if one person did give your thread a "terrible."

Mike said the right things, but I just remembered WHY I detest Charles Barkley. After the whole interview, all he has to say is "I have one question. How can it be a rivalry if one team never beat the other?"

Gee, I don't know, Charles. How can you talk about championships if you never won one?

Well, we've got Mike who appearently blinks more than normal, and then on the other side of the spectrum we've got Brad Miller who acts all bashful and takes long almost exaggerated blinks. We've got Chris Webber who does nothing but smile and say hi to his momma/newphew/insert family member, Bobby Jackson, I don't even thing we have to go there ;), Peja who we can only make out half of what he says ;) and Doug who is seemingly always cold and has to wear something on his head...

All interview team if I've ever saw one.

then how has the red sox/yankees rivalrly been so long, when the yankees crushed the sox for 86 years, yet it was, has been and will always be considered the greatest rivarly in sports???? the sox sure sucked it up, found new ways to choke to the yankees, but OH OH YANKEES RED SOX!!!!!!!! OMG BEST RIVARLY EVER!!!! why can't it be the same for the kings and lakers???

kings and lakers in a rivarly renewed. the royals actually beat the lakers way back in the 50's, so it's not like we've never beaten them in the playoffs, just that specific group and a long time, and a few cities later :D

GO KINGS!!! LAKERS SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a low blow :p it's not his fault that he had to play when Michael Jordan was in his prime.

i wish bibby would have said something like that. *remembering last season* "how would you know chuck? how would you know?" LMAO

Ask and you shall recieve :)
----------------------------------------------------
EJ: How has the rilvary with the Lakers changed?

Mike: Its a lot different now. Our rosters changed, their rosters changed. I don't think it was the same as it was my first year here, but I think there's still a little bit of rivalry still out there. When we go out there, fans still talking to us, I mean it feels the same when we go out there but the rosters changes

Kenny: How have the subtraction of Vlade Divac made your team different

Mike: Vlade helped us a lot. We definitely miss Vlade but Brad's filled in good for him. Brad's doing a great job and Greg's coming along. I think we are in the same situation s we were- I don't know what our record was last year at this point but, its just like if someone gets injured or goes down people fill in for that person who's gone. Just like Vlade's gone, we had to step up. We couldn't just sit back, look back and think like Vlade is gone what are we going to do. We definitely miss him but we got to move on and I think we're moving in the right direction.

EJ: Mike you guys have consistently been in this Western conference hunt, what's it like for you to look and to see Seattle at 16-3 and PHX at 16-3, are you a believer in teams like that yet?

Mike: They're playing good right now, both teams are playing real good. We played PHA in the preseason, they beat us pretty good, it looked like they were having their way with us. We came in and stole one-I don't want to say we stole one, but we won a close game in PHx and that started out hot streak kind of. We played Seattle and they beat us pretty good. But you really can't-I don't want to say anything too prematurely. You know its early in the season and you never know guys get tired or whatever, or shooting streaks come into play. Hot streaks and cold streaks happen.

Kenny: One of the things you guys used to rely on in the past was your bench. I don't know if you can totally give them the type of min, that they've had in the past when you had Bobby Jackson and everyone else on the bench. Now I think your bench min are decreased, can you hold up? Webber missed a game the other day because of that. Your starters are playing bigger min this year than any other year.

Mike: I think we can. That's really coaches' decision to make. I'd rather be on the court than on the bench anyway, so I don't mind it at all. But, its really coached decision how much he wants to play us or how much he wants to go the bench, so I rather leave that up to him. I'd rather not comment

Chuck: You go through all off season where Peja asked to be traded, when you first get together, is there tension, do you guys talk about it or do you guys block it out totally?

Mike: I think we block it out. Everybody got one goal on this team and that's to win. We're the type of team that we might have a different high scorer every night, and our main goal in winning. Coming in to the season, the media tried to hype it up or whatever, but we kind of blocked it out and do what we usually do and that's go play basketball, share the ball

EJ: With Shaq going from the Western conference to the Eastern conference, I think a lot of reporters and a lot of fans, said this totally changes the complexion of the what going on in the Western conference and everyone's going to think he we got a chance, this is our year. Is that real, do you guys feel that way?

Mike: I mean, every year since I've been here I've felt that way with Shaq being here. Shaq is probably one of the most dominant players to ever play the game. But the confidence that this team has, we feel we can beat anybody on any night

Then Chuck goes on saying he needs Mike and CWebb to come back to Tahoe (for the celebrity gold tournament) because they are the only two he can beat. Mike says he's been getting better and that he's only played golf like 5 times in his life and Chuck only beat him by one stroke.

Our record after 18 games last year was identical. 13-5 :)

I was able to catch Mike's interview... but still want to thank Reina for taking her time to type out the transcript! SO THANKS, REINA!! :)

I was thinking the same thing, Evenstar!!! If Charles wants to know why, he should check out the Red Sox and Yankees rivarly.
