if the season ended today who would win MVP?

Nash is the only one I could choose.

Carmello screwed his team when he acted like a Jerk in New York.

I hate Kobe.

Wade is good, but has been injured and his team is failing miserably even with him.

LeBron - maybe if they weren't in the East.

Other - Maybe Dirk, but the Mavs are a true team and several players on that team are doing well.

As bizarre as it seems, Steve Nash might be the freanking first half MVP AGAIN.

Best team has been Dallas, so Dirk probably needs to be on the list. But he;s really no better than he's been. Boozer has led the Utah resurgence, but he's a step back. Miami is obviously struggling, Duncan is no longer MVP worthy in Spurs land. KG has his team over .500, btu not where it needs to be for MVp. Melo got suspended. The Lakers won wiht Kobe, without him, and are still a step back. Yao is the best Rocket, but TMac may mean more for wins or losses. LeBron would be the other guy along with Dirk properly positioned right now -- his team is in a dogfight for East supremacy. But he himself has actually started a little slow (for LeBron). And then there are the Suns. Racing toward another elite shot upon the shoulders of a 33 yr old PG who was supposed to be slwoing down 3 years ago. Amazing.

Without a doubt Nash.

His numbers are better than ever, and his team is doing as good as ever.

If he was either...

1: Slowing Down.
2: Slowing his team down.

Then those would be the only reasons to not give it to him, and neither are even close to being true.

Nash 3x MVP, count on it.

I think it is probably Nash but he may encounter some resistance to being awarded his 3rd MVP let alone his third in a row.

Yep. So much resistance in fact that I think its highly unlikely. People always look for an alternative when it comes to three peats on the MVP, and that's without even the doubts about whether Nash is as good as past MVPs.

I think Nash will get blackballed for this year's MVP because he will be perceieved as not "worthy" compared to other multiple MVP winners. And Simmons (Sports GUy) is right, the irony will be that Nash this year is probably more deserving MVP than in either of his last two seasons.

Tracy McGrady deserves some credit. Not to take away from Yao but when it was the other way around (TMac injured) the Rockets weren't winning.

How many games did Houston win when Yao was out? McGrady?
How about the Suns and Nash?
What about Kobe?
Wade?
Shaq?

Ok, new question:
How many games have the Boston Celtics won since Paul Perce went down? Oh, right... zero...

Paul Perce is the MVP of the NBA...

This can't be a serious post lol, Celts suck with or without Paul. They had a below .500 recored before he even got injured. I think if paul was playing right now they would have won 5 or 6 game out of the 17 they lost.

But if i had to pick an mvp it would have to be kobe or T-mac, egde goes to T-mac.

5 or 6 is infinitely larger than 0... Think about it, PP can win games BY HIMSELF...:p

I had to vote "other" as I would cast a vote for Dirk. His team has played more consistently after starting the season 0-4 than any other team in the NBA, and he is the reason (imho). Yes, Josh Howard is improving, as is Devin Harris, but I'd be surprised if that team was a playoff team in the WC without Dirk.

Sure, the Suns have lost a few games since Nash has been sitting, but I not think it's solely because of his absence. They had been beating every team they should've beat for almost too long so far this season, so a couple losses to teams not quite of their caliber were bound to crop up at some point or another.
