Contract: 2013-14 $0.8mil; 2014-15 $0.9mil (team option); 2015-16 $1.2mil (team option);
Strengths: hustles, attacks the rim
Weaknesses: caught between positions, lack of offensive skill

Offense (Scoring & Passing)
Classic tweener who was a college PF but is too small for the position in the NBA. Can do a few things on offense. Has some post game if he can get into a favorable matchup, has developed a little bit of a midrange jumper, but its nothing you want to feature and he often looks a bit lost on this end. Three point shooting percentages are deceptive as he's taken 7 total threes in his career. Mostly known for attacking the rim with abandon. Not a ballhandler, so needs a lane or to be out on the break, but will finish with authority. Not selfish, but has few skills with the ball either handling or passing..

Defense & Rebounding
Despite portfolio as a hustle player, not a defensive stopper. Too small to handle big post players, and is a little stiff and has a high center of gravity on perimeter defense. Pretty good athlete and has a nose for the ball however, and will go to the floor or flying into the stands chasing it. Call him a SF and he's a strong hustling rebounder, call him a PF and lack of size/strength leaves vulnerable to being overpowered and boarded over.

Intangibles
Adds a splash of hustle and toughness, but figures to be buried behind better players and may not have much chance to display it.

Stats 13-14: 8.7min 2.7pts (.429 FG% .400 3pt% .625 FT%) 2.1reb 0.4ast 0.6stl 0.4blk 0.3TO
Stats Career: 11.2min 3.8pts (.539 FG% .429 3pt% .783 FT%) 2.6reb 0.4ast 0.5stl 0.5blk 0.5TO

Loved him at Baylor. One of those players that you have to forget about his measurements and just watch him cause havoc on D, hustle, and garbage. You'll know within one or two minutes if it's going to be a good Acy showing or a disaster, lol. He'll be a fan favorite in the mold of a Brockman and Michael Animal Smith.

As for SF, the only way he resembles one is his height/size. He's a PF.

Very excited about this guy. Extremely physical, good athlete, has some nice offensive skills, and a very good rebounder. Just one of those guys who has a knack for getting and going after the ball. Really hope he gets in the rotation

This is what I am expecting.

Every successful team needs its highly paid stars but to balance that, every team needs its low paid end of the benchers who STILL have something to offer. Our deep team of a few weeks ago actually had too many middle skilled players who earned too much. It is striking that PDA is doing all this in half a year. There is no question where he is heading.

Fan fave in the mold of a Brockman and Animal Smith, sounds lot better than he's a Kenny Thomas):

The great thing about Acy compared to Kenny Thomas is that he isn't costing you 9+ million dollars a year for 4 years....

I too really enjoyed watching Acy play at Baylor as he's just a pogo-stick. Very quick off his feet and very aggressive.
But with that said I never projected him as an NBA player due to his size limitation. So if he has the chance to get on the floor and provide some energy, hustle, aggression and be a positive-impact player for short stretches I'm all for it.
I remember at one point, I think it was towards the end of his 3rd year that they mentioned that over 50% of his field-goal attempts were dunks. That should give people an idea of what kind of player he is. If you can find him alone under the basket or rolling towards the basket then he's got the quickness, explosiveness, and hops to finish at the rim and he is an aggressive rebounder. We'll see if he can find some time out on the court with this King's squad.

Did you forget to mention his beard in intangibles? That thing is beastly to be he's a cross between Faried and Reggie Evans he's game style is somewhere between the two.

To be fair he measured 6'6.5" without shoes at Draft Combine so he's a legit 6'8", not 6'7". With 8'10.5" standing reach he's passable at PF though lack of strength is certainly a buzz kill.

I almost used the same comp, only that's giving Acy a little too much credit for now. But that's who I'd compare him to when he was in college, the impact I mean.
