I had a recent Houston vs. Minni contest taped and so I looked it over to see Williams play. Frankly, it was pretty disappointing. Not the same guy I saw from college. He was slow getting back on D, didn't play with aggressiveness, made one rebound, got his shot blocked by Jeremy Lynn when he came to a two-step stop on a dribble drive, missed an outside shot. Overall, he didn't make an impact on the game at all. Seemed to me he was playing by the numbers, just going through the motions. Fairly mechanical in his movements. Looks like a 4 to me just based on this one viewing. If this is the true Williams, then the Prince is definitely a better player. If this is an unhappy player who isn't playing close to playing to his potential, then it's a good trade. The Kings management obviously don't think "what you see is what you get" because they wouldn't have made the trade if that were the case. Williams is going to have to step up his effort under Malone in order to get playing time; no way do I see Malone tolerating the motor he had in this game.
