McNair gone

given how many other stars are potentially getting moved this summer, it feels like trading Fox at the deadline before the market completely flatlined as every team unloaded assets to get Book or KD or Zion or whoever might have actually been a really freaking smart move.

Yeah, you don't wait on stuff like that. Strike while the irons hot. Same with Domas, if he's one foot out the door, let the other foot follow.

a stat that now sucks and isn’t used by teams anymore.
And also the one time he got hired to an actual NBA front office, it resulted in the end of Grit-and-grind Grizzlies and turned that team so bad that that got the second overall pick and drafted Ja, a move he takes credit for despite having been fired for the team sucking a season before that.

Here’s the thing. If Vivek is going to make the decisions then he should just become president of basketball operations. Hire 2 assistant GMs. One to handle draft intel and trade inquiries and one to do the day to day stuff. They report to him and he makes the final call on everything and deals with the results. What’s the point of hiring a GM and letting them only kinda do the job?

Mark Cuban it or hire someone and get the pluck out of the way!

@sactowndog out celebrating tonight I imagine. While I don’t lay the blame entirely at Monte’s feet for the mess our roster is in currently, Vivek ain’t gonna fire himself so the axe has to fall somewhere.

Tank for AJ.

yeh I think so. He didn’t want to fire Brown and then had to lie about it and take the blame for it. Vivek stayed out of the way for 2 seasons. The year before Beam Team and then the playoff year. Now he is back to calling the shots

nah not even then. Vivek was a big part of the reason we didn’t make the Barnes trade to Boston. Vivek wouldn’t even take a millimeter step back.

who knows slim chance we get a GM who can reign him in but with Monte it was no chance.

Dude I’m still a Kings fan. It gives us some slight hope where with Monte in charge we had none. Doesn’t mean I am happy to see the Kings fail. And Vivek is still the owner.

now if you said Vivek was selling and the team was staying in Sac…… then I would be celebrating.

As for whomever gets hired let’s hope he chooses a clear path. The moment Monte said the plan was to keep all options open this day was ordained. Strategy is about deciding what you are not going to do and Monte never did that.
