Maybe the Kings will relocate to......Europe?

I don't see how it would work.

unless it's a branded league like NFL europe, which wouldn't be particularly popular. Maybe you could have 2 teams from that league feed into the playoffs. Who knows, but a franchise isn't viable IMO.

Last I recall would be a Euro conference of like 4-6 teams. Teams would go on road trips for a few games. So a west coast team could play 2 games on the east coast then 2-3 games in Euro then back for 2 games on the east coast then home. The Euro teams would do the same.

You do realize they need league approval to move, right? And IF the league is going to expand to Europe, it's going to do it with expansion teams (not team, teams, and probably a bunch of them) and it's going to do it when it's damned well ready.

The Maloofs have a better chance of growing a conscience than moving the Kings to Europe.

All of what you said is correct. I did say I realized it would be expansion teams. It was my way of poking fun at the Magoofs yet again. Sorry you have no sense of humor.

what a nightmare for the players constantly flying back and forth overseas
This has been in the plans for years. The idea is that you have a euro conference. Western teams fly over there and spend a month playing all the euro teams, then fly back. The euro teams then fly over and do an American tour, so to speak. It would be a once per year trip for each team.

The playoffs wouldn't be that bad as those are all in-conference until the finals anyways.

and then the Clippers get to play the London Towers and the Finals stretch out a month to compensate for jetlag ;) fun idea -although I shudder thinking about the carbon footprint- but giving it 20 years seems correct.

besides the customs issues how is it any different than going from East to West coast?
It's significant. West coast to East coast is a 3 hour difference. East coast to the UK is a 5 hour difference, and to the continent is a 6 hour difference (and 7 if there would be teams in Athens, Istanbul, Budapest...). A West coast team coming from a homestand and going to Europe would be an 8-10 hour difference, that's really not comparable to the 3 hour maximum difference now. The only way to really do it is to set it up like Hadlowe mentioned - one (perhaps two) long trips per year, with several jet-lag off days on either side. Of course, even now East coast (West coast) road trips are usually done in a string of games, not just one. That framework would almost certainly have to be expanded on to make NBA Europe work.

They would obviously just have to make the road trips longer/less frequent for the Euro teams. And the Stateside teams would have to hit Europe and do the full circuit all at once. If you think about it you only play each non-conference team once on the raod. For a team like the Kings, it would basically be one trip to Europe a year. Bigger thing would be for the Euro teams coming this way.

Its no further tha LA to NY.
Like Capt. said above it's a 5 hour difference from NY to London, and it's only 3 hours from NY to LA. If we are talking LA to London we are looking at an 8 hour difference. I have traveled to Europe a few times, and I don't fully adjust to the time for at least 3-4 days, and that's while taking sleeping pulls to adjust my sleep time. In the daytime I felt like a Zombie.

It's not fun to have to adjust.
