Maybe she'll get it right this time...

Oh, I wouldn't laugh at another's misfortune..........much.

Tee hee hee!!!:D

E! Online News: Ashlee Simpson Falls to "Pieces"

But by Monday, Joe Simpson, father and manager to the fallen popster, was at work on a damage control campaign, claiming that acid reflux disease thrashed Simpson's voice, forcing her to rely on the vocal track.

"What the [reflux] does is inflame the vocal cords...and when the cords are swollen, you're hoarse. You can't sing. She woke up Saturday morning with a sore throat," Joe Simpson told E! News Live.

He says that after SNL rehearsals, "She could barely even get through 'Pieces of Me'...Literally she was singing and nothing was coming out at times. So what we did is what we had to do which was to add backing vocals to her vocals. She still sang live but she was singing over the top of stronger vocals so she wouldn’t sound like a frog on national television.

"Every major singer in this business has those...when they are sick. It is how we do our business."

Such spin; to steal a line from Barkley, Bill O'Reilly is rolling over in his grave right now...

Too bad I've missed it because I could tell if she was lip synching since I have her album. :o

Seriously though, she can't really sing whatsoever. The other Simpson could IMO...

I saw the replay on TRL... SO FUNNY... Then she says "O I had acid reflux... I couldn't sing and I was SO MAD that I had to use a backround vocals because I had never used them before" What a crock... She got caught just like Milli Vanilli just cop to it... Ugh... Terrible damage control... She could have at least said that wasn't even supposed to come on, that was just used during rehearsal...

If you don't think she can sing, then why did you buy her album?

The other Simpson can't sing either. Even when she DOES lip synch. I felt bad for her trying to reach back on that cover of Angels -- why choose a "voice" song for someone without much of a voice?

Easy on the eyes though. :D

good. at least she's publicaly denounced for the fraud that she is. jessica has a nice voice though.

LOL, I brought the album because my little cousin adores her. Therefore, I gave her the original copy while I download it into my computer. Her album did contain two decent songs....:)

Oh yeah, I adore the other Simpson... :)

There's plenty of links to see the clip. This one worked out well for me:

I'm having nearly as much contempt for SNL. On the west coast feed, they remixed the audio and removed the vocal track to make Ashlee's claim that the band played the wrong song seem more valid. In this era of instantaneous information, did they really think covering it up for the west coast would hide anything? If anything, it makes SNL look worse. Some corporate geeks somewhere probably thought it might hurt the record company's feelings to replay what really happened.

I've just about had it with SNL. Whatever was remotely cutting edge about the show is gone. Now it's just another flaccid piece of pop culture. It makes me wonder what they would do if Elvis Costello had pulled his "Radio, Radio" stunt now. I'm guessing they would've taken his entire performance out to get some more ad time in.

HEHEHEHEHEH!

I don't know why exactly, but this just tickles the heck out of me...

And her excuses? Oh, MY GOD! Sounds like something some of the Mavs trolls (not the good Mavs fans who post here...;) ) were saying after their exit last year...

:D

Hahaha...:D

I miss this show. Jude Law was on it...and I still missed it!

I heard that on the Radio Music Award(?), she also did a Live show. She started the show out as a joke by pretending she was lip synching. She also got a standing ovation.

Maybe she thinks that, if she makes fun of herself enough, that people won't laugh at her anymore...

She's wrong.

She's wrong.
Maybe she should go back to her natural color and she can play the dumb blonde routine like big sis. Ditch the punkish garb too, that's even more transparent than the notion that she can really sing.

I did like the hoedown though. Need more hoedown!

Thank you, Gargamel, for paying attention to the spelling. Proper spelling is very important.

I can't dance; I'll take some of the other variety, if it's all the same...

It's all good, because she can't dance either. :D

That jig was pretty bad, but what was she doing during her first song? It was like...a belly-first-forward-waddle? I couldn't figure it out! And then she stole her wardrobe from the set of Gangs of New York and stitched rhinestones up the side?

Anyway, now that I'm done being a jerkface ( :p ), I just have to say that it must be hard being the younger sister of Jessica Simpson. Not as blessed with the physique or the good looks, nor the vocal talent of her older sister, it really must be hard on her psychologically.

Really, the blame falls squarely on consumers. There's just so much money to be made by engineering a pop icon, that I can't really blame the record companies for doing it. It's just a winning formula. So, as long as the general public continue buying the records of these pupet-musicians, these types of staged, phony performances will prevail.

A new low for SNL.

I never really had much faith in pop "singers" anymore. The radio just isnt good.

wow, I sound old!

Vocal talent??? Jessica Simpson?? You're kidding, right??

Well, his statement is still technically accurate... This, of course, is not to say that Jessica Simpson has any vocal talent of her own, because she doesn't. :D

I dunno, IMO J. Simpson is not a bad singer. The stuff she does, I don't believe is hers, and I think her career has been manufactured.

But she can carry a tune (from the very few times I've seen her on TV).

*shrugs*

I just downloaded the clip, and that was so embarassing, yet entertaining.

If you look closely, the band wasn't even playing at the start of the song, and didn't start playing along until about halfway through the mix-up. For Ashlee to blame the band has to be one of the silliest excuses you could come up with, whoever gave her that idea should be fired.

She got exposes as a fraud, and her dad is just pathetic. Gee, I wonder why he threw in the "Vegas wedding" thing  Way to change the subject.

Anyways, I hope her career is over, and her sister's right with her. Music today is little more than whiny, exploitative teenage icons complaining about anything you can think of so lonely, outcast teenagers will buy their album. It's sad. I jsut can't enjoy any crap of today.
