Hall of Famer
Kings had the golden opportunity to win a game in 2009. They had the will but not the ability to do so. Kings dropped 5th in a row and have a 6-12 at home (ARCO is rolling in its grave). Kings have won only 4 matches in the last 28 after starting with an incredible 4-5 record. With 8 total wins Kings have only one more than Wizards and 2 more than Thunder for the 3rd worst record in the NBA. Loss column doesn't matter since for those teams all game are lost before the games start meaning that win column is the only relevant stat. Kings started just great:( on the 3 game home stand with Mavs and Magic to come.

Piksi's pow(d)er rankings

3rd worst record in the league being at full strength is a good sign for the lottery

I remember when we won 3 in a row and had 3-4 and 4-5 record ahead of Mavs, Spurs and others - people were talking playoffs. Any questions ?

5-6 weeks till the trade deadline. Plenty of time for Kings to get what they don't need. Since we are sending Green to the minors for whatever reasons because how much worse can he be than others on a 8-29 team, we can send others younger than 25 or trade them for some veterans with bad contracts and than extend them with future MLEs. You put Spencer, JT and Green on a NBDL team and they could beat a bum team like well - Sacramento Kings. This is just stupid. If You can't find minutes for young players on a "rebuilding" - where can You? Unless, of course - You are not rebuilding. In that case - some people are just retarded. What is the plan B ? Going on a 35 game winning streak and making the playoffs ? You just can't teach stupid !

We saw a glimpse of new qualities by Spencer Hawes. He hit some big shots for us down the stretch. Took some major responsibility. Now - it was pure coincidence that he was on the floor considering his age but still. He did more in that one game than Salmons in the whole Kings career when it comes to big plays down the stretch. Will that give him a starting job ? Of course not. He is at least 10 years too young for that.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Point Guard - most important and most difficult position in all basketball. We haven't had one since Vlade left and Webber got traded. Needless to say - we don't have one now. One that is supposedly a PG and who we gave the MLE is playing like crap and he isn't even on the floor down the stretch. Bobby Jackson who has no "tomorrow" when it comes to playing basketball is acting as one down the stretch right now. Bobby has never been one. We have 5-6 combo guards/small forwards occupying 3 spots. Not a good planning but then again a team with good planing doesn't go 8-29 playing veterans. I don't watch college basketball but I sure hope that there is one good PG that will declare for draft. We are Kings so a Paul or Williams or even Westbrook aren't really meant to be. There are teams in the NBA that have PGs who sometimes even get like 8-9 assists per game. I would just like to know what that feels like.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
You up 3 with all momentum and energy with a minute to go - it should be enough. Yeah right ! A worst 3pt defending team + dumb decision on the offense + no look defense = L. It was a good game. Kings fought back bravely as Spencer his bunch of clutch shots and Heat choked on the FT line. We lead by 8 going in the 4th quarter but I was confident that we could blow even bigger lead. We are that bad. The game contained 59 fouls, 84 FTs and 95 rebounds. The Heat had Wade and we didn't. You look at them and ask Yourself - how in the hell did they manage to rebuild in one season ? Well, they know what they are doing and they do it well.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
AWARD TIME

Beasley should get the TDM but in this occasion - how could You not give it to Jamal Magloire. I don't believe in +/- stats but it looks like the Heat played their best with him dominating the glas in the little PT he had. jamal freaking Magloire - give me a break.

LW-Vc went to Marion. What the hell happened to that guy /

JHA went to Bobby Brown. If he can't take an advantage of such an oportunity with no competition at PG - when will he. I see him playing for ALBA next season again

SAR-Methuselah award went to Bobby. Bobby is old.

WTF moment of the game. I would have gone with VF21 pregame suggestion but then Salmons turned his head away:rolleyes:.

More bad news coming up as we host the mavs who got trashed by Suns the other night and who will try hard to make that up. They might be without Josh Howard. I am not looking forward to the nightmare of being filled up by Irk. Dallas isn't really that good of a team. They are somewhat old but they do one thing well. They beat the teams that they are supposed to beat - like us.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kevin - what would You do without the FT line
Brad - 16 rebounds is awesome. Using logical reasoning he will be dominated by Erica
Salmons - heads up!
JT - more production needed just so You can keep this job
Brad - okay

Hawes - awesome
rest mateen

Dallas is 10-8 on the road nd is 6th in the West right now if I am not mistaking. They aren't really as good as they used to be. Dirk will abuse us and Kidd won't have a PG to compete about. Anyone think that anyone else but Barea can win the TDM ? LW-VC will go to George by default. Under different circumstances - Kings would gave a decent shot to win this one. I think that Dallas will come out very upset about the abuse Shaq handed to them. Our first win in 2009 will have to wait couple more games.

IMO, we could have sustained the momentum if there were no injuries to key players ( especially Martin ) and if we accelerated the development of our youngins rather than stubbornly using the ineffective veterans.

We weren't going to make PO even if everyting went right and then some.

P.S. someone please edit the "in progress" part out !

We had no real momentum. We just played terrible teams. That is the ONLY reason we have ever won anything all year long. Our great winning streak? Home games against Memphis, Minnesota, Golden State, and a road win vs. the Clippers. I mentioned it when it was happening. As usual people believed what they wanted to believe. But it was a ridiculous "streak." We've got exactly two quality wins this entire season -- Lakers and New Orleans. Both one time freak occurrences. Otherwise the other 6 games were all home games against the other dregs of the league: 11-26 Memphis, 10-28 Golden State, 11-25 Minnesota x2, 8-28 Clippers x2. Oops, excuse me, one of those Clippers wins was a mighty road victory.

My GF has charter cable. I dont remember seeing comcast sportsnet ca. when flipping thru channels. Other than KTXL, are Kings games even available on charter? Too bad if it isnt, I'm in Riverbank near Modesto and this is Kings country. Charter is wierd because they exist in little pockets here and there all over the place. Dont know how they survive.

We had a couple of members in years past who had Charter and weren't able to get the games. And, to make it even worse, they couldn't get them on league pass because of the area blackout regulations... I hope that's not still the case.

piksi - Come on. My WTF moment was incredible...and totally unexpected. Salmons' looking away from Wade at that critical point may have been disasterous for the Kings, but it certainly wasn't unexpected. After seeing Cisco taken into the land of tweetie birds TWICE in the same game, I completely understood why John would look around to make sure the high screen wasn't being set behind him because he clearly couldn't rely on his teammates to call it out to him...

Grant Napear making a stupid comment and Spencer Hawes' reaction to it, on the other hand, were instant classic. Howdy Doody just doesn't get it. Never has, never will. And the fact at least one of our young players isn't impressed with him in the least gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling all over.

:)

Well the last game was the best I've seen this year (other than Lakers). My DVR stopped recording shortly after Spence hit the rainbow to put us up three in OT, so I didn't have to witness our inevitable collapse.

As much as I'd like to overtake the Thunder for the best shot at #1, I think I'd like to see Cuban pout even more, so go Kings!

I think there's more order in the offense in a pick-up games than right in a Kings...
and Salmons actually going after signature fakes was kind pathetic to say at least jeeez we're bad...

I wonder what Rick could do with this squad...

..Methinks 25-30 Wins and a firing by the Maloofs.

Sigh...Natt makes me miss Reggie.

Garcia running the point has always been a bad idea, and that hasn't changed.

Also, disappointed that Thompson isn't getting extended minutes since he became a starter. I was hopeful after his good first quarter, but he was quickly yanked. What's it going to take?

Dirk has now gone off - yet. Mavs w/o Josh Howard. Jason Terry picking up the slack. Kings can't seem to figure out the Mavs zone. I don't really mind any of Natt's substitutions because seems like most of them are just going through the motions.

I assume the reason very few are chiming in tonight is they know the first 3 Q's of Kings games lately are lame, boring, eye soars in most cases. It's only worth watching very last part of their games to see if they can miraculously avoid last minute or last couple seconds melt down when its tight.

I did NOT like Hawes' Garnettesque "block" of Dirk's shot after that foul on the floor. It was WAY too close to a continuation/shooting foul call and the last thing we need there is a goaltend.

Update: JT just shot an air ball. Spencer missed 2 FT's and Kevin bricked another FT. Cisco staying hot to keep Kings around.
