Mavs a Big Fat Zero

Maybe we should have held out for the Mavs, although Rockets are strong in areas where we are weak.
Give all credit to Rockets. If we are playing the Mavs I suspect the same result.

i love it :D

cuban has the most priceless expressions on his face. it's the only thing good about him, watching him squrim :D

I didn't think T-Mac and Yao would work out when that trade went down, but T-Mac is playing like a stud. That's how you approach the game. The Mavs double team, so T-Mac goes to the key and dishes. Plays GREAT D, and crashes boards. That's how you play the game.

Sometimes, life is just good...

And the look on Mark Cuban's face is, indeed, priceless.

Whoooooooooot!!!

T-Mac's dunk on Shawn Bradley will be one of the best basketball posters you've ever seen. WOW...

That dunk was absolutely disgusting...just plain NASTY...and I think I loved it more each time they showed it :D

There goes my prediciton as well. I can't help but smile but at the same time i'm trying to hold back as we too might suffer a similar fate if we don't play like our backs are against the wall tomorrow.

Gotta give credit to the Rockets they played a great game. But Kings fans don't gloat just yet, you have your hands full with the Sonics and last I checked, the Mavs aren't done at all.

Franchise high 29 games won on the road this year, NONE of the superstars on the team have showed up this post season and we still BARELY lose...

I don't know they've dug themselves into a whole but I don't think it's over by any means. Come see me if we lose Thursday, then I'll say IT'S OVER

Well the Mavs were a "sleeper" pick to do well in the playoffs and are now struggling. Kings were picked by many to lose in the first round and that hasn't changed. Do you notice the difference here, Dampier and the Mavericks were supposed to have given them a playoff edge. Where is it? If you guys get swept, you will have lost 8 of 9 playoff games.

Wish they'd show it again. :p

Regular season doesn't mean a thing when playoffs start. If Mavs played all 29 of those road games against the Rox, it might mean something. The reason the "Stars" haven't shown up is simple. They met a good team who's playing at the playoff level. Mavs are obviously still thinking them beating up on crap teams means a damn. No, you're playing the Rox. One team, 7 games. (not literally 7, more like 4)

Rox game plan is also simple. Pick and Roll with Tracy + Yao; Shut down Dirk. They realized that there aren't any other superstars on the Mavs. Just pretenders and over-hyped roleplayers. Good roleplayers, but still roleplayers.

Only teams who've come back being down 2 at home are the '69 Lakers and '94 Rockets. Anyone who thinks Mavs are comparable to either of those teams, is sadly mistaken. Barring a complete collapse by Houston, Mavs are finished. There is nothing Mavs can do or have shown to indicate otherwise. Even Jerry Stackhouse in the postgame interview said that the Mavs' only chance is to hope Houston doesn't play as well.

And of course, it's all Finley's fault. Didn't he say before the game that game 2 wasn't crucial? What a joke.

Good info and nice post. Thanks, Zyphen!!

The mavs got ripped to pieces yesterday on a local sports talk radio here in chicago. They got ripped mostly because of their psycho fans who have been calling in everyday saying how mcuh their D has improved and how good their team is. Avery took some heat as well because of his post game comments "we forgot to trap him"

It was a great segment, I wish I would've recorded it....even the Lakers and kobe (the snichdevil ;) ) got their fair share. Apparently Kobe is the GM since he is now scheduling meetings with coaches......isn't that a GM's job?? Also they ripped on Kobe for his comments he recently made "i'm just a regular guy I don't have an influence on who the new coach will be" Really kobe, so you're telling me that Chucky Atkins can go out there and schedule meetings with coaches. They went on saying how Kobe destroyed the team and ran out Shaq and PJ out of town.

here is a nice qote from the show: "Brian Grant's contract is like an anchor that's sinking the lakers to the bottom of the ocean"

Glad to see the guy coming of age in the Real Season...it's a beautiful thing. And what better team to do it against than the Mavericks! I love it!!!

If the Kings are out early, I'm rooting for the Rockets.

It's not completely over, but it's not looking too good to be down 0-2 while going into Houston for 2 games.

it's really not over at all Dime, if any team can do it it's this Mavs squad. We've barely lost these games and our superstars haven't even shown up.

BLAME FINLEY! (wow you guys forced that one out of me)

Ugh? You guys got blown out in game 1. Game 2 was yours for the taking but again they lost (I myself was suprised by both Houston Victories). You guys are a good road team but Houston is also a pretty good home team and are playing good ball. It is very difficult to beat any playoff team 4 of 5 and 3 of 5 on the road. It'll be very difficult and the Rockets have only lost 1 playoff series when being up 1-0, I think 7-0 when up 2-0. Not a good sign for Mav fans.

ahhh, mavtalk has come to life :D I knew it, yesterday they were just too dejected to talk and probably went straight to bed....

I wish everyone would just calm down. If we get beat in this series, it is not because they were a much better team than we are. The Mavs just didn't play the basketball that they are used to. They are too overcoached and they are so afraid to make mistakes.

Yeah whatever you say  too overcoached uhhum, yeah that must be it...

more craziness

I disagree, the Rockets are not the better team. The only difference is, they're playing their normal game and we are not. Like I've said before, the guys are being over coached and have been afraid to make mistakes where they should be just playing basketball.

well, why won't the mavs play their "normal" game, what's preventing them.....

excuses, excuses, and.........more excauses......should've would've could've etc. Dallas played as well as they could.....I doubt they can play any better....Houston didn't play good D last night and they still won.

No offence to you Mavsman, but a lot of Mavs fans talk A LOT of trash on other boards (ESPN for example) about you guys steam rolling through the playoffs and steamrolling the Rockets. With that being said, you guys are now eating humble pie. Kings fans really are pretty humble this year, I honestly don't expect all that much out of them. We were told by Mavs fans and the ESPN guys and ESPN.com guys how good dallas was, how good there D was how good everything was in big D. Well, the lights are flashing in Dallas's eyes and they look pretty blind now. Maybe they'll come back, maybe they'll make it a series. "I told you so," seems like a pretty good quote.
