[Game] Mavericks @ Kings - 1/10/13

The 10 nothing run has all been on the starters. This isn't Smart's fault. The Mavs are a veteran team and know how to play and the Kings are a young team that needs to learn how to have on to a lead. Turnovers and terrible shots have cost the Kings the lead, not the coach.

LOL. His Hobbit lineup woke a sleeping giant. Give a vet team like the Mavs momentum? This is the result.

This quarter has illustrated why Tyreke isn't a point guard, offense is stagnant.

You do realise that nobody is moving or setting screens for him, and that a lot of the offense has actually been initiated or taken by John Salmons right?

It's just a game. Our guys look tired right now while that Dallas run has rejuvenated them at the worst possible time (for us). But again, I still count this as a big moral victory for us regardless. The guys played well, looked like they were having fun out there, and the crowd came out and did their part.

I used the sinking ship metaphor in reference to the game, not anything else.

See: it makes no difference when IT is playing PG. If we swing the ball and nobody else moves your offense is going to become stagnant.

Cousins set some screens for him, but Reke doesn't really know how to use a screen.

The Mavs momentum started when Smart put in Jimmer and Thornton and played his midget lineup. Which buried Isiah (one of the catalysts of the lead) to the bench until 2 minutes left in the 4th. Then he keeps Tyreke as the pg, even though he doesn't get us into our offense efficiently like Isiaiah, this result is 100% on Smart

Smart just wanted to prove to the non believers on here that he DOES in fact throw games away with his lineups

This is mostly why I try to stay away from game day threads. It's tough to be positive when you see how well this team can do when managed properly. There's potential. There's talent. But misusing it is what causes people who don't know any better to think that this team is full of low IQ players. It's not.

Well said.

Wow. The refs hate us. Questionable decision not to take a TO there regardless.

He is getting screens, but he does nothing with them, Isaiah makes an assertive move from the screen most of the time. Reke just staggers and doesn't really do anything, either make a strong move to the hole or looks for the dish.
