The fact that starting at 12:01 a.m. July 1 free agent Wells can opt to listen to any team and decide to sign a new contract for whatever he can get is precisely why conversations suggesting a trade for a re-signed Wells, Brad Miller and Kenny Thomas for Minnesota's Kevin Garnett are more comedic than anything.

And word to KHTK's Grant Napear regarding Wells' upcoming free agency: If getting as much money as one can on the open market is being greedy, then somebody must have moved the country on me. Who decides what is fair on the open market? Those making the offers and those accepting them.

Why u have to go bash Grant like that, he may look like howdy doody but he is a damn good play by play announcer and out of the local announcers I have heard he is in the top 5 at least. He makes the game exciting and I love put it in the book and send him to the line and if you dont like that you dont like nba basketball and ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh boy.

I have no problem with Grant's play by play announcing. It's his radio show personality that drives me crazy. Ever since Grant accused BJax of holding out on the team by not playing in the playoffs with his injury I honestly haven't had much use for Grant.

I agree with your take on Grant...he makes the game entertaining, and his voice along with the G-Man's on the radio in my opinion have the same effect for Kings fans as Vin Scully's does for Dodger's fans.

However, I think that Grant has become pretty selfish with his radio show in the fact that if anbybody even comes close to proving him wrong, he's too prideful to admit it and just hangs up on the guy most of the time. He banned Stanley in Roseville from his show because the guy stole Grant's thunder. The guy is a typical New Yorker when he's on the radio, and tries too hard to outdo his buddy Chris Russo from WFAN in New York. However, listening to Russo, you realize the reason why his show is televised on the YES NEtwork and Grant can't get any TV time except through the Kings because he's a great play-by-play guy. Russo is reasonable with his listening public while Grant is not most of the time.

Grant should stick with what he does best...play-by-play catch phrases that make it onto the ESPN NBA promos, "Oh boy! If you don't like that, you don't like NBA/KIngs Basketball!"

I like Grant, he's a nice guy. I met him a few times when I was a kid and even called into his show when I was like 13-14 years old a few times. I would basically just ask some sports related question and he would answer it nicely.

I'll admit I don't really like Mike Lamb on the radio and the show they have for the most part kind of bores me. The top 5 at five is lame.

I remember when Bob Gerould would do the halftime show from one of the luxury suites. Mitch, L-Train, Wayman Tisdale, Spud Webb, Duane Causwell, Trevor Wilson off the bench, and the guy making the half-court shot over his head to win the truck! Those were the days!
