in my opinion we should make spencer hawes the number 1 option. why not? he has a post game, he's showing flashes of a pretty good rebounder and shot blocker. if we dont have "the guy", we have to make someone the guy. right now i think spencer is our best choice.
if anything, there needs to be SOME idea of...who should be doing what. structure. a "system"...whatever. cuz it seems like everyone's main goal is to score.

And I will go as far as calling this "the guy" as the "over-all leader" of our team inside the playing field. I know I'll be ostracized again with my reasoning because Hawes is young and we've got some veterans who can fill-in, but hey what the heck.
Of all the players we have, Spencer is the most consistent in showing the desire to play his best every game - both offensively and more importantly defensively. And the Kid has real talent. He's got "IT" in his game. It is about time we reward his efforts and encourage him more to continue playing his best.
There has got to be that interim someone that we call "the guy" in our rebuilding team. "The guy" who gives his best both offensively and defensively because he wants no less than a WIN in every game. The true leader on the court if I may call him. Maybe he'll be contagious and his desire to win will rob off to his teammates. Martin has shown he could be " IT " offensively, but his desire playing defense is just not showing. I think he is contented to be the one-dimensional player that he had always been and that makes him a poor candidate to fill-in the interim position of my definition of "the guy".
Agreed. I've been thinking the same thing for a while. With Martin injured, Hawes is the perfect choice. It puts pressure on him, but I really don't think he will have a problem with the pressure.
