luke schenscher released

Real shocker. Wonder why they just didn't do that a couple of days ago given that they didn't even put Luke in in the intervening game?

Well, kinda surprised at this. I figured he'd stay till the final day... would of liked to see him play more than 6 minutes in one game though.

Oh well...

As expected, Sampson/Price will be the 12th and 13th men.

Was someone released from another team today that might have triggered this? It just doesn't seem fair to cut the kid the day before the trip to Vegas.

A whole lot... damn. I just checked that earlier at like 4 or 5 pm. Teams must be wanting to go with their final guys for practices/final games.

Damn, my boy Theron Smith got released... oh well. He'll find something, he's a young, versatile player. I didn't expect it with the Nuggets anyways, they're way too packed. I don't even know why the invited him with all the fowards they got.

Randy Holcomb played well for the Bulls, but it was between him and Kasib Powell for the final spot.

what happened to the days when the maloofs said win at any cost???... now a $368K/year player with some potential can't be stashed away for safe keeping in the NBDL... i'm not saying Luke is the second coming of Bill Walton, but he could have developed into a good backup, ala luc longley or chris kaman... a minimum contract to take a longer look at Luke wouldn't have killed the kings, especially with all the injuries we always have...

oh well, i just hope we stay healthy... i hope releasing Luke doesn't come back to haunt us in the playoffs some day in the future, ala Jerome James last season...

Yeah, but unless we're planning on picking up Jahidi White to just flat out scare our opponents into ineptitude, nobody there that would seem to justify an emergency release of Luke. Probably just training camp business as usual. maybe after our last couple of performances, the powers that be decided that it was time to settle into our regular team and try to get a real rotation going.

Well, I wasn't saying we'd be picking anyone else up, but just noticed that before and then posted. If Zendon Hamilton was there though, I'd be a little intrigued. But as I thought, he won the the Cavs big man spot.

Just to say, there are some solid/nice players there that just lost the battle, or teams had too much already at the position. From what I've been following during camp/pre-season..

He's nowhere near a Jerome James situation though.

I'd love to see that, Jawad's a good young player, surprised he didn't get drafted.

But, we are set at SF and with swingmen...

I think he'll find a spot somewhere, be it off the bench or in the DL. Clippers could really use him, they have no back-up swingmen but Rodney White.

edit: Okay, Clips released White, after the signed him from camp.

I'm thinking this also. Friday's game should be a pretty good look at what we are going to seeing come next week

Yeah, but there'll obviously be 2-3 practices after Friday.

Kinda odd, as others pointed out if they were going to cut him why not do it a few days back and since he is cheap, young and big why not stash him in the DL... maybe there is somthing else going on here.

Does Slim know yet? He's not going to like it. I was hoping to at least see some of these guys before they cut them. I still have new Kings to watch tonight, FINALLY!
