Shooting coach is a Keith Veney:

It say in the article that Veney is going to be helping out for a week or two. That's a bandaid. Tyreke needs someone to help him out for the three months, not a week or two. Unless Veney is going to put in the time during the entire summer, it's hard to see how this helps much.
Obviously i was joking with the Jordan vid. (sorry)
Dude. He's bringing someone in during a compressed season where time is definitely at a premium. He's putting in the work on trying to fix the jumper right now as opposed to waiting during the offseason. Maybe it is just as simple as a little hitch in his positioning in which 2 weeks is all it would take to get him through the rest of the season. They can identify one core issue and build from there. Maybe it'll take more, but you can't fault him for acknowledging that it needs to be fixed.
My bad. Tough to tell sarcasm on here sometimes.

He'd have to be brain dead to not acknowledge that his shooting form needs to be fixed. I think he might have noticed that a long, long time ago. It's not about recognizing anything at this point, it's about getting a credible shooting coach who works with him DAILY on his shooting form. If Veney is great, then hire him continuously until his shot gets fixed. Hire him to travel with him on road games. Hire him for during the entire summer. This 2 week seminar is just annoying.
Given that Reke shoots 80% from the line, which is a very solid number for a guy who supposedly can't shoot, any complaints about his FT form smack of again of that same need to criticize anything Reke does just to stick to script.
One of the greatest FT shooters of all time shot them underhanded. Care to critique his form?
Err, not to burst your bubble or anything but it's not exactly common for NBA players to just drag their shooting coaches around with them for the entire duration of a season, especially during a contracted schedule like this one, expecting any player to do that would be, at the very least, ludicrousness. I would, however, expect Tyreke to work with his shooting coach over the offseason.
Reke improved dramatically as this season has progressed after the horrid FT shooting he had in the beginning of the year.
I guess there's no space to fall back and kick your leg out when shooting your free throws, which means the accuracy is there, just the jump shooting motion is off.
We're talking about a guy who needs a total rebuild. He sure as heck better start to take radical measures to improve his jump shot or like I've said before, he's going to be one gigantic WHAT IF?

Amazing.
Now everyone turns out to be a shooting coach.![]()
What a lazy bum!Anyone see this yesterday?
What a complete failure. If Blake isn't paying for a top FT coach to fly around the country with him, game to game, then he simply has no hope and LA should ship him out. And given Blake's prime has already come and gone, he has no hope. He's been in the league for how long, and still can't shoot FT's?!

Any complaints about his FT form are just criticizing him to stick to the script? Hardly. I'll agree that some people who are criticizing his FT form are the normal guys who hate on him, but don't group all of us into that category. As you show in one of your posts his percentage has been getting better and better, that shows there was (and still is) improvement which logically would say some of the criticism is deserved.

Sarcasm should be banned or at the least marked with a smiley or /sarcasn] or something of that nature. It is the one way of speaking that is the most likely to be misinterpreted and everyone should know that.
The best part of Reke's improving FT stroke is that its all happening by magic, since we know that Reke is lazy and just likes to sit at home playing video games. Do you know how incredibly lucky we are? How many other teams can say they have a young might-be star who is actually magical? Who knows what could happen next. Maybe he will suddenly grow to be 7 feet tall, or sprout wings and be able to just fly over people and dunk. The future is bright. And imagine what might happen if he actually ever showed up to practice?
As for Reke's constant detractors, all they have to do to gain legitimacy on this subject is to start questioning Durant and Kobe's FT strokes too.

A "might-be" star who doesn't pan out due to lack of motivation is the same as a "might-not-be" star. "The blueprint" were the guys who hired the shooting coach for Tyreke. Does he do anything for himself? Did he have the motivation to go out there himself and find his own shooting coach?
Antoine Wright said that Tyreke's work ethic wasn't great, and in the pre-game interview the other night, Bobby Jackson said that Tyreke has "started" to work on improving his jumper.
I'm happy he finally got a coach to help him out, and I hope he continues to progress, but if he has only started to worry about his jumpshot during the middle of this third season, there is cause for a little worry.
uhh this isn't the first time that Tyreke is working with a shooting coach. Keith Veney was his shooting coach after his rookie year during the summer too. Some of you act like this is the first time that he's learning how to shoot or something.
