Despite it being close all thru the game this is a tale of 2 halves for Cason Wallace, he played more like a 2nd rd pick in the first half and in this 2nd half he's playing like a lotto pick for sure. Even with all the other stuff going wrong, if he showed up like this in the first half they win this game.
Wallace deserves to play around NBA talent, not this team, which clouds my read on his outlook a bit, I figure around better talent he'll be able to play towards his strengths even more, wanna believe hes gonna be a better NBA player than he was college and hope he lands somewhere interesting. will be keeping tabs on him for sure. He's got heart, hes a fighter, good luck to him.
Tshiebwe is G-League bound and I wish him all the luck there too.
I hope were seeing the end of this "x-fer era" at UK, this is not the path to the championship its the path to mediocrity... Yet again they rely on an older upperclassman xfer SG to shoot 3's, and that player lays brick after brick after brick in the big games. Watching this makes me feel like "we have lost the way" and "how did it come to this?" (though whenever UK gets a good SG they usually end up in the first rd rather quick, so thats part of an explaination... Whatever happened to 'we dont recruit, we reload.'?)
As a UK fan, a fan of Coach Cal's teams in general dating back to the Memphis days, I just dont like losing like this, I much prefer to lose with a team full of talented freshman, its way more graceful, though I know thats not a concern of most fans.. Next years squad will be a breath of fresh air, glad this chapter is over.
3/19 from 3, 16 turnovers... they deserve this loss.. wild they could keep it this close while playing so poorly.
ANTONIO REEVES IS 0/14... LIKE WTF IS THIS crap.. I turned this game off, n I'm glad I did. N I never do that, but it's like I dont wanna win like this and I also dont wanna lose like this, I've been mentally checked out from this team for a while now, pains me to watch this ragtag bunch get all the minutes while Ugonna Onyenso sits on the bench.
Keyonte Johnson didnt even play well.. hope i dont sound bitter cuz thats not my intent, but i do think its worth mentioning.
The Bluebloods continue to fall.. sure does seem like were in the era of 'the newbloods'..
Kind of hilarious to see UK get bodied by a 5'8 PG, good for Marquis Nowell, type of game you tell the grandkids about.
