LIVE comments on Feb 14th city council meeting

"Why can't you have a fundraiser?" from the lady who cannot afford a Kings ticket... I think she is starting to cry...

This guy doesn't seem to know anything... the money for the arena could be used for pools... good point... never considered that.

With the arena having parking rates going up, less people will come to the city of Sac because of parking rates.

I ran to the snack cupboard between speakers to grab a piece of jerky, took a bite and the jerky was covered with mold!!! Arg!

I was incredibly impressed with the white shirts, the discussion, the attitude of the mayor, and even Carmichael Dave's kids! I'm very glad I recently got high-speed internet so I could see this meeting.

I am almost speechless with gratitude for those such as Mike0476, kennadog, Capt. Factorial, Warhawk and all the rest who have represented all the rest of us so well. If at all humanly possible, I want to be at the meeting Feb. 28.

Passed unanimously!

huge. Seems like the opposition is disappearing too. Only 8 cave people in the audience and we got a unanimous vote this time. I figured at least Sheedy and DFong would oppose. But even they say yes. I think for the Feb 28 vote we may be looking at a 7-2 vote in favor which would get it done.

When I was little - back in the dinosaur days - my dad instilled in me a love of basketball that has lasted my entire life. He died the year before the Kings came to Sacramento so he never got to root for a hometown hoops team. I know he would have loved this team as much as his children and grandchildren do. I just realized that Feb. 28, 2012 would be his 83rd birthday. I think it's a sign. :)

That's amazing. I hope it's a sign! We are closer to getting this done than ever.

Wow! I agree, should the vote go our way, it would be a sign. Just think about last year when they were ready to go to <puke> Anaheim <additional puking>. Now the opportunity for the Kings to stay is closely at hand.
