Dear Reggie,

I'm not going to bash you or anything, but some of the things you do make me wonder sometimes. Lately, you haven't been making me very happy. Going to Quincy Douby in the clutch for 2 games in the row or not knowing when to tell his team to stop playing zone because the other team is raining threes (literally)...come on man. Quincy Douby??

The ball should go thru Jason Thompson everytime on the post. John Salmons, Bobby Brown, Beno Udrih should have 5 second rules on dribbling...

Reggie's playing the kids and not saying anything dumb. That means he's currently exceeding my expectations, and I've got nothing bad to say about the details. We might lose a close game or two, but I don't really care. The team's getting better, and that's all I'm worrying about right now.

That, and a certain old crony of the Maloofs that seems to think he ought to break into NBA coaching. Blech!

Keep up the good work, Reggie.

Can't have it both ways. IMO he's doing pretty good with all the injuries. He's doing what I hope he would do before the season started and thats giving the young guys a chance to prove they belong. And hey at least we're not like the Thunder.

My suggestion would be for Thompson and Hawes to work the post more. Either one-on-one or plays with our guards dropping the ball off in the post. Never pass the ball to Hawes at the 3pt line. Mid-range jumpers only if they're wide open or else they warm the bench.

Greene should also continue to see minutes.

Given the circumstances, I will not complain about Coach Theus. However, since Geoff is about to hire an assistant to groom for his job (my opinion only), that may mean you are about to be replaced, at least in the short term, by John Whiznant. Start getting your ducks lined up, Reggie. :p

remember were talking about a coach who hasnt had much Head coach experience only two years in New Mexico and spent most of his years as an assistant or in TV

i say the guy is doing a bang up job at the moment... with all the injuries and the vets not playing to their expectations... I see considerable game improvements in the following months.. even next season

Dear Reggie:

Please visit this forum regularly. There are a lot of basketball enthusiasts in this forum who fairly see the situation more objectively. These are Kings fans who only want the best for the team.

You might want to feel their pulse and use it in coaching. If the fans are happy, your boss will be happy, and you'll have your job security.;)

BTW, you might want to use my suggestion of pattern of rotation, so we can fast track the development of our young players: :p

Rotation/Minutes:

#5 Miller ( 30 min ) Hawes ( 18 min )
#4 Hawes ( 12 min ) Thompson ( 18 min ) Moore ( 9 min ) Williams ( 9 min )
#3 Thompson ( 12 min ) or Greene ( 18min ) Salmons ( 9 min ) Garcia ( 9 min )
#2 Martin ( 36 min ) Salmons ( 6 min ) Garcia ( 6 min )
#1 Udrih ( 30 min ) Salmons or Garcia or BBrown ( 18 min )

( BJax, or Douby - garbage time )

I am disappointed with all the hate that Theus has got in the media. He is not close to being fired.. Not sure where all that came from. He has been trying to figure out who is going to play for him and who is not. I am happy with him trying out all sorts of different lineups, and am glad he is playing the youngsters.

But some people are never happy.

Theus almost fired himself at the end of last season with his ego and his mouth. He is going to be constantly on that edge all season long because of it. If things go badly, he has no goodwill to fall back upon.

I think he has done fine so far, but then again I am easy this year. He is playng the kids, and he has kept his mouth shut and his preening ego mostly tucked away (as far as can be told). That's enough for me for now. Unfortunately when you coach for a couple of owners who only grudgingly admit to the necessity of a rebuild after being hit over the head by it for years, and who now want a rebuild where you play the kids, pay great defense, and make a playoff run all at once, you aren't so secure. Particularly with their old nanny apparently whispering in their ears again.
