I realize Seattle is not Sacramento but I did find this paragraph interesting.

I have no idea if Sacramento has the player's fee or not but the specialty license plate is not a bad idea. I would get one for my car. If this will be anything like what the DMV already does then you're looking at an initial fee of $98 and then an annual fee of $78.

"The proposed legislation would require local and visiting professional athletes in the NBA, NFL and MLB to pay a fee for every game they play in Seattle. He says a lot of other cities already have similar laws built into their tax revenue. Hope says it would levy $140 million towards a new sports arena. He's also proposing specialty license plates for Sonics fans, generating another $10 million for bonds."

Can you imagine what taxes look like for these players since they're earning money is so many states? I don't think TurboTax would be able to do the job.

I find that pretty amusing for a state that prides itself on having no income tax.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to be their CPA. They have tyo pay income tax now for every jurisdiction they play in that has an income tax. What a nightmare, although I guess it's easier once you have all the information for every judrisdiction, although you'd have to keep up on changes. Yikes!
