Latest follies of high paid athletes - Plaxico Burress

Gee, thanks so much Burress.

Another fantasy player on the "Do not drop" list for me to try and work around for tomorrow's games.

Double GRRRRR.

I'm so glad it was an accident. I'd hate to think he intentionally shot himself in the freaking leg...

Now that his season is officially over, he should be removed from the Can't Cut list. In my Yahoo league, the owner who had him just dropped him.

What a complete idiot. According to a discussion of this on KHTK, he was carrying the revolver in the waistband of his sweatpants. He was jostled and trying not to drop his drink when the gun went off. Apparently, for this to happen, it meant he actually had to have a round chambered!

Unfortunately it was his leg. He will still be able to pass on his gene for utter stupidity. Sometimes Darwin's theory doesn't work. ;)

Jeez! What a total moron! I'm all for carrying weapons for strictly self-defense purposes, but....carrying a loaded piece to a nightclub? And with a drink in your hand? Damn! What an idiot!

Plaxico, if you want to carry a gun, go to a shooting range, not a nightclub!

He wasn't trying to shoot anyone. He was carrying it for protection. His teammate Steve Smith(WR, not the panthers WR either) was robbed earlier in the week outside of his house at gunpoint. I'm not going to say what Plax did was smart, but to say you wouldn't have thought about getting yourself some protection after that and some other robberies of athletes in the last year-2 is a stretch IMO...

If he wanted to carry a gun he could get some training on how to use it and not be a moron and carry it like a gangsta in his waistband. Besides, if someone sticks you up at gunpoint even if you're packing its probably a wise idea to just hand over your money and jewelry. Especially if your livelihood depends on your body being 100%. They can pull the trigger a lot quicker than you can reach into your pants, aim and fire.

That's true. But to say you wouldn't have atleast thought of it...
