larry brown wants to coach again

no. he doesnt know the basics. you said he's just having a tough time playing the kids. but what does he do when they're in the game? yanks them after a few minutes. he's also having a hard time understanding that we cant run plays through mikki moore. and set up shots for garcia with 3 seconds left on the shotclock. the guy is a moron.

bollocks. why would we look to replace a guy who's only in his first year of coaching? he knows enough to at least have gotten better records than several other coaches out there (whether or not it's good for long term rebuilding is something else, but he's got some wins under his belt).

and the "brown...chocolate" comment was perfectly apropos. :)

Yah, I don't know why Tyrant wants another coach. First he complains about the record not being any better than Musselman, but Theus beat it with a lot of injury games to the top three starters (martin/artest/bibby).

1) We have had our first improvement since 2001.

2) The players don't seem to have quit on Theus with 18 games to go like they did last year.

3) You have our most emotionally unstable player saying he wants to stay whether it be true or not.

4) Miller has bounced back and has actually got some trade value now. (whether it be Theus motivating him or not).

I could go on, and on. Theus, for a first year coach w/o NBA experience, has done very well, and I look forward to him progressing along with the team. We can't expect to win always playing young players, and replacing our coach every year like Tyrant wants.

.............. and this has to do with the Kings how? Chuckle chuckle snicker snicker. Larry Brown and Sac Town? Now THAT's a HAR HAR. I think Reggie is doing just fine.

you make it sound like they had a fist brawl themselves. he's an aggressive coach, ron is an aggressive player. which is why i think itll be a perfect combination. can you name a college coach that has come to the NBA and won a title in his 1st 3 years? enfourcing curfews, calling timeouts with a 40 point deficit in the 4th doesnt make you a coach. pulling rookies after 2 minutes of playing time for 1 mistake doesnt make you a coach. having a dry erase board doesnt make you a coach. i would kill to see what those dry erase boards look like in those huddles. the angle he's taking is just ridiculous.

I am no particular fan of Theus and think he continues to get rampant fanboy treatment. He has made all the mistakes of trying to treat men like children that all college dictators do, and I also think if he does not shape up his attitude he may eventually get his *** canned for something approaching insubordination.

That said, it has not all been bad, and he has shown enough of the good that he still has a chance to be a solid coach if he loses that chip on his shoulder. Or a solid enough coach. Because tyrant, we aren't winning that title next year, nor the year after that. And it doesn't matter who you bring in to coach. And bringing in a 70 yr old prima donna famous for ditching teams every 3-4 years even in his prime makes little sense for us where we are at right now. This isn't a vote for Theus so much as a vote against Brown. Brown is a walking troublemaker. And an immensely expensive one as well. He only has purpose somewhere where they are on the brink and have a short window.

brick, agree or disagree. The coach is the face of the franchise?

Hell no. The face of the franchise should be a PLAYER. They are the people who actually go out there and play the game. In college a coach is the face of a team because they're the main constant and leader but not in the NBA.

I would say Duncan is more the face of the Spurs than Pop, even though Pop is the leader, Duncan is also the leader. On the Suns Nash/Amare are way more the face of the franchise than D'Antoni. Pierce/KG/Ray are the face of the Celtics, not Doc. TMac and Yao are the face of the Rockets, not Adelman even though he's a great coach. Kobe's the face of the Lakers more than Phil. Dwight's the face of the Magic, not SVG. AI/Melo are the Nuggets, not Karl.

Theus isn't getting fired. He's done enough to earn another year on the job. He's a first year head coach in the NBA, for crying out loud. He's made mistakes, and learned from them. I'd like to see him play Williams a little more though.

It's too late in the season to start losing games for more ping pong balls. Our draft position is going to be 10-15 no matter what, barring a miracle. Win as many of the rest of these games as possible. Spoil the Nuggets season. Better yet, spoil the Warriors season. Keep giving the young guns more minutes in the process. Overall, I'm very pleased with what Theus has done.

With all that said, Larry Brown in Sactown? NO THANK YOU.

Note: you take #10 over #15 every day of the week.

But with any luck we are locked into #12 now. #12 can hardly be called luck -- it sucks. But the big key is not to accidentally pass the Blazers and end up #13. 2-5 would guarantee it (we can make the 2 the Lakers games). 3-04 should do it as well. No need to risk the 4-3s or whatever.

If we can find a way to drop all the remiaing games we might be able to slip to #11, but its not likely. take one fo the teams below us winning mor ethan half of their remaining games.

HELL NO!!!

Gefore any serious discussion of LB takes palce please note his last 5 years as a coach, then note the giant fork protruding from his back sidee.
Then turn him over... he's done!

Brown has left the 76ers according to ESPN. At this point, it appears he could go anywhere...college or NBA (well, probably not the Knicks).

Keep in mind that there will likely be a few more openings for Larry (and others) after the playoffs conclude...there's a few coaches on the hotseat.

Also, as a wildcard possibility, if Nellie were to not return, could Larry Brown be the next HC of the Warriors?
