Landry out for 4-5 months

I can't make you see what you dont want to see.

You could always just hit the "reply" button in the post of yours that says what you think it says in response. What I saw when I reviewed the thread was that other people made comments that you interpreted to mean what you wanted them to say.

But hey, why not just continue to derail the thread...

Ok thx.

Depend on whether he takes buyout or insist on full sum like Josh Smith did. If Kings need to stretch all $13 million, waive&stretch give them around $3.4 million in additional cap space ($3.9 million in net gain minus minimum cap hold of $523,0000). If Landry somehow agrees to leave minimum salary of $1.4 million each year, Kings would gain $4 million in space.

Don't get cranky because you can't answer the question. It was simple. And you are the one that threw it out there that you had addressed the topic in this thread. So, where, in this brief 3 page thread, had you "already explained this"?
it appears you lack the proper comprehension skills that you need. I'm afraid I will not be able to help you. Enjoy your day.

An overwhelming majority of the buyout's I can remember give back none or very little money (less than 1M). This is obviously Landry's last big contract (unless we decide to give him another giant one, which could happen). His last big payday for the rest of his life. Coming off an injury. After another injury. For an undersized scoring pf that relied on hustle. He's not giving up any money. He has no reason to, as he's got all the leverage. I can see him giving up 500k in order to get the full payout right now and try to ride coattails off contenders playing 10-15 minutes for his last couple of years at minimum salary, but I do not see him giving up anything in the million range for the entire contract, if any.

I guess I'm an idiot, too. That was an an expensive waste of a degree.

There is an outside chance that you're clinging to your misguided post about Malone calling for Landry, but that can't be it because of the facts disproving it.

I don't know that stretching Landry will offer the same convenience as using his contract for filler in a trade for a bigger player.

Agreed.
I just don't see the benefit in having his bought-out salary ($2.6/yr) handcuffing the Kings for 3 extra years is worth saving $3.6/yr for 2 years as well as getting to use his services (he's not terrible) and his contract in trades.

I wasn't advocating for the buy out/stretch. I was just saying that a buyout probably wouldn't leave us with any more money than if we just keep him forever.

Course, things change if you're trying to clear space for a free agent right now. Then you could consider a stretch in order to get enough money for your target.
