if the magic beat the cavs the magic will win the title... there is no way that the lakers will guard the 3pt shooters.... and the magic have been playing against lebron, kobe wont be nearly as hard of an opponent. howard and lewis must be foaming at the mouth right now, knowing that they might be playing against gasol and bynum. as long as the threes keep falling the magic can win it all....
there is NO WAY david stern would allow the magic to beat the lakers.

The conspiracy stupidity aside, the Lakers have more offensive weapons than the Cavs, especially across that front line.. Much harder to shut them down.

And the correct predictors this time around are: Bricklayer, DerekJ, Freakout, Haiku30, kingsnation, MoneyMike916, RKid, Variant.

I think the only other real "offensive" weapon the Lakers have other than Kobe is Pau... And I'm gonna tell you right now Pau aint gonna do crap against Dwight Howard. Howard is the kind of player that is Pau's Kryptonite, big and strong.

I was at the Giants game tonight and when they showed the Lakers results on the big screen, everyone booed. :D

In other news, congrats LA on your second straight Finals loss.

nuggets front court was physical but they are no where as strong as d12.. lets just hope the league doesnt invent phantom fouls there.

if the cavaliers make it to the finals....

im calling for sterns head

Because the two best teams in their respective conferences during the regular season shockingly managed to be the two best teams in thier respective conferences in the playoffs?

As an aside, what was up with Denver this game -- they looked scared, or tentative, or something. Which is always possible with a team that hasn't been there before, but which seemed bizarrely out of step with the rest of their efforts in this series when for much of it they looked like the better, if less disciplined, team.

This game was identical to the closeout gm from last year, the Nuggz had mental baggage goin on, we've seen it enough from them to know it was there. In the last 2 years, the team playing LA at home usually folds at some point if they don't play physical defense. Can't let them run all their offensive stuff w/o resistance, that's their strongsuit. If you don't drive to the rim all night, that compounds problems because LA is constantly out of defensive position and it's there to exploit. I think they also knew they were F'd when they saw Joey there instead of Salvatore.

not really... just want to call out for sterns head! why cant some one just chant stern resign or something :D

i just hope orl/cle have what it takes against the lakers...

Truer words were never spoken.
Joey and Javie are the 2 most beneficial lead officials for LA on the road imo. They aren't home team guys in general. They aren't as anticipatory as many other refs, which helps LA because they are always forcing themselves to play last second D by being out of position. They will also grind the game to a halt with fouls when opponents try to pull flagrants or act thuggy (which Denver did and Artest before them). Salvatore, Mauer, and Rush are death for LA, either home or away, but especially away. Their tendencies in the areas above are all opposite.

ClutchFans had some sort of stat showing the Lakers' record when Joe Crawford refs one of their games. It was pretty impressive (like 90%?) though I don't know if it was accurate.

Anyways, I voted Lakers in 6 so woohoo. And if I take off my Laker hater glasses for just a sec, I really don't have a problem with LA coming out of the west. Best team easily... talent wise and mental stability wise. Denver is just too all over the place.

I still say LA underachieves and has mental issues of their own, but what can you do.. maybe next year there'll be a bit more competition. :)

Besides, guy at work brings in donuts for everyone whenever the Lakers win a series!
