Lakers pushing for KG..

Indeed. Hassell couldn't be benched either, wouldn't see Davis being benched also since his offense is needed in the line-up.

I don't think Minnesota would trade him within the conference. Also, as discussed yesterday I think Garnett has a clause in his contract that he has to approve any trade. It was said in an article that he told the Gm that he wanted to go to NY if he was to go anywhere. Not sure how much truth there is to that, but that's what I read.

Well, if you're getting that report from Realgm it has somewhat less credibility than most of our posts on this site.

Only reason KG might want to avoid L.A. is Kobe, and I think a player of his stature could deal with that much better than the lesser guys Kobe bullies.

As an aside, if this were to happen...man I would be pissed. Not a little. A LOT. If KG's out there, we should be at the front of the line. And for god's sake not the Lakers of all teams.

*scoffs*

there is no way the t-wolves trade KG to LA for odom and bynum. point of fact, no combination of lakers (with the exception of kobe bryant) is worth kevin garnett. almost every other team in the nba has more to offer the wolves than the lakers do.

I would think they would ask for Kobe if they were going to trade with the Lakers. I don't think Odom and Bynum matches up talent wise, not to mention they probably wouldn't fill the seats either. Minny fans always seemed to be notoriously fickle when their teams stink.

If you lived in Minny would you go out in the dead of winter to watch a lousy team?

Minny fans didn't even fill up the stands the year they went to the WCF.

Almost have to wonder if the NBA couold be in trouble up there.

Blaming it on the weather is letting them off way too easy but would probably fly if they didn't pull the same crap with the Twins. Also it wouldn't explain poor playoff attendance if that's true, I worked nights that year they made a good run and didn't pay too much attention, but I have to assume its pretty decent there in May and June.

Dime Magazine???

I got a subscription for 81 cents! Sounds credible!

Don't overlook an important point though: Kevin McHale still hates the Lakers.

I can't see him making that kind of deal for his franchise players and one of the only homeruns he's ever hit as a GM.

I don't think McHale could live with himself if he handed LA a serious contender while simultaneously tanking his own team and costing him a job.

If this happens, I'll be shocked.
