Oh good grief, laker fan. I hope you at least had enough integrity to giggle while you were writing that.
Memphis got crap for Gasol. And no matter how much perfume you squirt on it, it's still crap...
The only team that got what it wanted out of that deal was the Lakers. At least be honest about it. It's not like we can change the outcome of the deal.
Very rarely will you find a star traded for equal value. If this happened this year, the Grizz would not be under such scrutiny because of the economy. Grizz just saw it a year earlier. Call them stingy or smart, they're laughing now. They will not be competitive for another couple of years, and why not put a young exciting team on the floor at a low cost while still vying for the lottery? It's a dream come true, and it's a lie if we say we aren't envious of their position. I don't blame the owner for hitting the reset button on the team. If we had done it earlier maybe we would have as bright of a future as Memphis. Does it suck 10 times more since it gave an extrordinary player to the Lakers? Why yes, yes it does. I don't think that fact should cloud your judgment and have you sound so angry. Everybody knew this trade was a dead giveaway, but it gave the Grizzlies what it wanted. They didn't care where Gasol ended up, and they sure didn't give a damn that it would give Kobe a damn good right handed man. I don't really think that Grizz tried to screw the rest of the leauge. Even if they did, why is it such a big deal? I applaud the Lakers for taking advantage of the situation, because if the roles were reversed, we would have done the same thing.
