Lakers and Jazz Trades

from the way that petrie and the maloofs are talking, it sounds like they want to do a rebuild in sacto, with reggie "growing" with the team... i think this make it very likely that the kings will try to trade some of the veterans away now....

the lakers need someone to appease Kobe and he has mentioned that he would love to have ron artest on the team... since the JO trade has stalled for the lakers, because the don't want to part with BOTH Odom and Bynum... they may be willing to trade with the kings for artest for vlad radmonovich and bynum...

the kings get a young center (bynum) and a 3 point threat (radmonovich)... the lakers get one of the top defensive players in the NBA (artest) and get to keep Odom and get rid of radmonvich's contract....

then the kings trade with Utah for their disgruntled small forward... the kings trade Brad Miller and SAR (or Thomas) for Andrei Kirelenko and Jarren Collins... the jazz bring in a great passing center for Jerry Sloans slow down, pick and roll offense, while getting rid of their owners whipping boy (kirelenko)... the kings get a defensive replacement for artest, with better shot blocking skills in kirelenko...

the kings then draft at #10 the best avaiable big men in either Joakim Noah, Yi J., Jeff Green, Tiago Splitter, or Jason Smith to play the power forward spot....

the kings new line up...

PF Joakim Noah Radmonvich K. Thomas
SF Andrei Kirelenko F. Garcia
C Andrew Bynum J. Williams J Collins
SG Kevin Martin Q. Douby
PG Mike Bibby J. Salmons R. Price

The Lakers/Kings trade is favorable, if the Lakers can't get a bigger deal done. If the Jazz want to get rid of Kirilenko that badly, Miller is going to be a very expensive backup center. Utah needs one, though.

The lakers aren't going to trade Bynum or Odom for anything less than a perennial all-star. Would people please stop suggesting that the lakers would trade Bynum for any of our crap?

i live in so cal, so i hear all the talk and there is tremendous pressure on the lakers to make a deal to appease Kobe... artest is one of the players that Kobe listed as players he wants on the lakers... artest would be an All-star if someone could keep him in line... and he is still very young 26 or 27 years old... if the JO deal is off, Artest would be a very viable option for the lakers... they would keep odom and add artest... they don't think radmonvich fits the triangle and bynum is the only trade commodity the lakers have to get back a good player, since they won't trade odom...

the lakers would be pretty formidable if they made an artest trade... the lakers would be:

PF Lamar Odom
SF Ron Artest
C Kwame Brown
SG Kobe Bryant
PG Jordan Farmar (or Free Agent)

Only real weak spot in that line up is the point guard... but this is a kind of trade that the lakers may be forced to make to appease Kobe now....

Yea, well I live in socal too and I follow the lakers a bit. The lakers were not and still not willing to move Bynum for Artest. If they were so willing to move him he would be on the nets right now, believe me they aren't ready to ship Bynum out for just anyone to appease Kobe. Yes they're desperate to keep Kobe but I'm afraid it's beyond a Ron Artest, it's going to take a JO or KG to get him to back off of his demands. All this stuff isn't changing how high the lakers are with Bynum and giving up Bynum for Artest is vastly overpaying because no other team will even come close to giving up a prospect of Bynum's value.

Not realistic, but sure, that frontline works.

Of course you forgot the next move where you take Kenny and Vlad on a team roadtrip out into the middle of Death Valley and juxt leave them there. (Although would be a certain honor in having 2 of the top 10 or so worst contracts in the league.)
