Kurt Rambis is the new head coach of Timberwolves

Ironically, If we are to believe the scuttlebutt at the time, Theus got fired as head coach of the Kings because he had an assistant coach who became "a big, festering problem," as identified by the Maloof's. Maybe if the head coach had just promptly axed Chuck Person and blamed him for all his teams "defensive woes" he could have saved his own job too - at least through the end of the season.

How odd. That's not even CLOSE to the scuttlebutt I heard. Reggie Theus was more than a little responsible for his own fate IMHO.

But that's not the issue here. The issue is whether or not two strong personalities like Theus and Laimbeer will be able to perform successfully as second (or third or even fourth) fiddles to Rambis and whomever he selects as his first assistant.

As you said, not the time to get into the weeds on the Theus firing. But, there was lots of talk (scuttlebutt) all over the place that Chuck Person was a big reason, if not the main reason.

Did you read the article? It says clearly who the lead assistant in Minnesota is and will be this season.

:o My bad. I skipped right over that little paragraph... I like it better (and so do my eyes) when they bold the names. :)
