No, Jordan was never arrogant. There is a difference between being arrogant about you as a person and being arrogant about your game.

MJ knew he was the best player, and he let his game speak for itself.

Lebron is arrogant about himself - I actually think he would chose fame over basketball. That's where hs is arrogant.

Jordan is one of my favorite players ever but he was arrogant. I have seen many interviews in which he credits himself. And he was known for ragging on teammates and for punching Steve Kerr (but at the same time he got the best out of them).

The players that were truly some of the greatest players to ever play the game have ALWAYS been somewhat arrogant. I think it's part of the personality makeup that allows someone to be that great.

Lebron has been aroogant
Kobe has been arrogant
Jordan had his moments of arrogance

Think of some of the greatest players in all sports and a lot of them were arrogance. Can you say Joe Namath?

2 people I can think of that at least didn't come off arrogant were Montana and Rice. Doesn't mean they weren'

From what I've heard Montana can be either really nice or flat out rude to people and Rice is a pretty nice guy. Rice was the hardest working athlete ever and the GOAT(of football). MJ was the best ever in any sport IMO but Rice is the most dominant football player EVER. But anyway I've heard stories of Rice being nice to fans, signing autographs when he meets fans in public places(like the airport and stuff), etc. Supposedly he's a really good person. Even said Ice Bruce could wear his #80 for the 9ers this year if he wanted(Bruce declined though).

BSPN had Pippen on one time around 94 and during the interview they played audio of MJ calling out Pippen/Grant. MJ said he didn't appreciate having to carry their asses when they got tight late in games. Pippen sat there irked and denied he had to be carried in tight situations (rite...). MJ was amused at how both Pip and Grant passed the ball like a hot potato to Paxson after years of complaining about not getting final shots. He's the GOAT, but he loves being 1-up on ANYONE, included his most valuable teammates.

Later on, when Pip and Barkley fell out, Pip relayed a quote from MJ about Barkley being a slob (comparitive to Jordan's level of fitness). Then it comes out that he called Barkley claiming he'd never say such a thing (rite...).

The MJ stories can fill a book (and they have).

I can't possibly imagine a more humble NFL player (or major team sport player) than Barry Sanders. He was humble to a bizarre level. He didn't even want the Heisman, showed no regard for the achievement when they announced his name. And obviously gave no care for any record.

Jordan most definitely did not walk on water and depending on which stories you choose to read and believe he comes off rather detestable, but Kobe is still the bigger jerk by a mile.

Nothing to take away from Barry Sanders, but no one compares to Jerry Rice. He actually turned down sports endorsements because he thought it would take away from his game. Amazing, truly amazing.

As someone who endured a season of Scottie Pippen in houston, he is unequivocably the biggest snob/jerk I have ever seen. The man flat out quit on his team and openly announced it to the media, proceeded to become a TO-esque cancer in our lockerroom in order to get traded, and basically sabotaged the last possible season for us to even win a playoff series.

And to think Charles Barkley took a paycut and accepted the veteran minimum so we could bring that piece of garbage to houston. I don't care what MJ may or may not have done but Pippen is/was pure slime. I could list story after story of how he single-handedly ruined that season.

So I'm with MJ on this one, Pippen is garbage and deserves to treated like such after the way he treated the Rockets during his 1 year there.

Kobe recieved his share of MVP talk these past few years also and he wasn't even playing as well as Lebron is now. The reason why the talk for James may be greater is because he averages close to a triple-double--30/8/7/ on 48% shooting. Don't tell me it's the competition level that allows him the extra boards and assists. Outside of the scoring, Kobe's numbers have stayed roughly the same as the dynasty years.

Lebron's MVP talk is legit and it has nothing to do with being in the east.

In 94, even Derrick Coleman looked pleasant by comparison. That was Pippen's breakout year that everyone points to. Goes to show you how winning will give fans/media amnesia.

He was a snot in Portland too, but then again, snots were all over that locker room.

I think MJ is actually onto something even if he shouldn't be the one pointing it out. The calmest years of Pip's career all came when his buddy was there carrying the world on his shoulders. EVERY other year Pip was surly as hell.

He was. I remember in 2000, he spent the entire series maddogging, woofing, and squaring up to Kobe and playing up to his crowd when he scored on him in the post. Kobe never bit and it was clear that it irritated Pippen to no end. Not just referring to him attacking the stack of towels, but the emotional look on Scottie's face whenever Kobe did something successful against him -- almost like a Mike Tyson syndrome.

As far as being humble, Barry Sanders takes the cake. Rice worked out harder than anyone not just because he loved football, but because he loved being the greatest ever. The longer he played the further out of reach his records became. Barry played and retired in his prime without any care at all for records. I'm not taking away anything from Jerry because from everything I've read, he's one of the nicest big time sports players ever. But I still don't think he's more humble than Sanders.

Kobe is no where near as arrogant as Mike was. You can't be serious! Jordan was a jerk and it always gets overlooked because he was the god of basketball. And to answer the original question; Kobe is a lot better than LBJ right now, but I see Lebron having the better career out of them both.
