As one of the bigger JT-bashers on here, the Kings would be stupid not to try to keep him on the team for cheap.
He has FINALLY shown signs of improvement this year - screw the numbers - I've seen plays from him this year that he simply was not able to do before.
He broke up an alley-oop last game! Can you believe that?! He saw it coming, and reacted to stop the easy dunk. He never would have done that in previous years.
His hands are MUCH improved - he doesn't bobble the ball before grabbing it every time now. He's made plenty of put-backs by simply being in the right place. He doesn't dribble the ball when given an easy assist right next to the basket anymore - he simply jumps and puts it up.
These are all undeniable improvements to JT's game, and should be readily apparent to anyone who has watched him struggle on the court these past few years.
To think they wouldn't want him, after finally showing that he's getting the game, is troubling.
Here's hoping that it's just them being smart about not extending him early because his value will be lower later on that it would be now...
JJ, on the other hand, is on a whole other level of awful.
That guy has some of the most abysmal lack of defensive bball IQ I can remember seeing by a King.
I've lost track of how many times he simply loses his man on the court, ending up guarding noone.
And to think that KF's used to happily grab up the torches to burn Beno and Landry at the stake for their "team-killing defensive lapses" when they haven't en masse gone after JJ, it's shocking.
Goes to show that the leaders of this board simply haven't pilloried JJ's defense enough for the followers to pick it up yet.
