Greetings, fellow Kings fans!
Very cold, wet day here in the forest. Rain and low clouds make driving hazardous, as do the piles of wet pine needles on the road. It's a great day to stay inside with a warm fire in the woodstove, which I'm doing.
Interesting goings-on with the Maloofs bringing in the big gun, David Stern, to deal with the politicians. This could end up being very entertaining. I just hope the local newspaper covers it. If not, of course, we'll still get news since pretty much anything David Stern does hits ESPN and every other BIG sports reporting mechanism. Might actually shame the Sacramento Bee into doing a little better coverage of the story, but I'm not holding my breath.
I am proud. I suggested the Duct Tape Award to piksi and he's now including the DC-DT (named after - who else - Doug Christie) in his award list.
Speaking of piksi, if you've been trapped in a landslide or hidden out in a cave somewhere and don't know about piksi and his game discussion threads, you need to stop right now and go check it out. But be forewarned. piksi is a Kings fan but he is not possessed of the rabid homerism that some of us are afflicted with. piksi calls 'em like he sees 'em. He can find the dark lining in any silver cloud, but he keeps it "real." Read his introduction and I defy you to do so without smiling or at least nodding in agreement once or twice.
The game discussion thread is just one of the ways you have to share the game experience here at Kingsfans.com You can also follow this thread, although I do ask that people not make comments since I'm trying to report the game for those who cannot see or hear it otherwise.
We also have chat over at mIRC. It's on server irc.bludgeon.org and the channel is #kingsfans. Hosted most nights by Mr. S£im Citrus, you'll find anywhere from a couple to a whole lot of fans hanging around. Be sure and check it out.
The "staff" here at Kingsfans.com is very proud of what we've accomplished in becoming the #1 Sacramento Kings Online Community. None of it would be possible, however, without the generosity and dedication of our board owner. We don't have pop-ups and we don't have lots of ads. We have hopefully a place where Kings fans can come and talk to their heart's content about their favorite team. If you would like to help defray the costs of keeping Kingsfans.com up and running, please consider becoming a Contributing Member. You're under absolutely no obligation to do so, but you will get a larger avatar, the ability to create your own nifty user title and the word "Contributor" under your name. And, of course, you get the satisfaction of knowing you've helped to ensure the continued presence of Kingsfans.com on the Internet.
Enough of the commercials. This should be an interesting game tonight. Long called Arco West, the Warriors home court could prove to be difficult tonight. Luckily, even though it's considered a road trip, it doesn't take long to get there and the team can be back home in their own beds before morning.
We're the second game on TNT tonight, so it's possible the game won't start on time. Let's just hope the first game is a blowout so we won't be up until the wee hours waiting for the game to begin.
As always, I LOVE THIS TEAM! (Sorry, BawLa, but that's MINE!!)
Go Kings!!!
