Hall of Famer
Finally someone worse than us
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
On December the 12th 2003 Kings went to Utah and improved their record to 15-5 by beating the Jazz 100-93. At that time – we already owned Jazz too. In this particular game Kings were outshot and outrebounded but managed to take great care of the ball (only 4 turnovers – 3 by Brad) and to hit the FTs which was enough to win on the road. Mike Bibby lead the Kings with 25/6/3, Pedja had 24(all in the 2nd half)/8/3/2, and Vlade had 13/3/6/2/2. Bobby showed his 6th man qualities by having a great night with 22/5/2.

Utah has not beaten Sacramento at home since April 19, 2000.Bibby hasn't lost a regular-season game at the Delta Centersince joining Sacramento before the 2000-01 season.
"I can only speak personally and I know that I wasn't intimidated," Jazz forward Matt Harpring said. "This is theNBA, we've got to grow up, we've got to play, we've got to playhard."

Peja Stojakovic scored 24 points and Bobby Jackson added 22 off
the bench for the Kings, who have won three in a row and eight of nine.

"We handled the ball well," Kings coach Rick Adelman said. "But
if there is anything I am disappointed with, I don't think we defended as well as we need to defend if we are going to win onthe road."

Utah led 35-32 with 6:47 left in the second, but Sacramento went on a 9-2 run to build a 41-37 cushion and held a 45-42 halftime advantage even though Stojakovic was held scoreless.
"I was awful in the first half," Stojakovic said. "I don't know
what was wrong ... a couple of shots I took, I thought they were good shots."

Kings snapped the 5 game losing streak beating the one of the few worse teams in the league improving to 9-10 which really sucks in the Western conference. The forecast (schedule) for the rest of the month is mediocre at best. After playing Warriors we play Jazz, Suns and Mavs with a average record of above .700 and playing well. Then we host the Wizards who suck on the road just a night befoe we go to lose in Denver. Then we have Christmas and then Sixers at home as a sort of a present considering that they are by far the worst team in the NBA. Then to finish the year we get to play Clippers and we host the Warriors. A .500 looks great about now.

Long time ago my physics teacher said that gravity is the most powerful force on this planet and it is also most dangerous one - once You are not in control. Now, my teacher wasn't sober many times (which would qualify him to coach Kings) but he was right about gravity. He also said that once You are falling You have nothing to worry about until You hit the earth. He was right about that one too. Relevance ? Well, Kings are in the state of falling which is the worst possible state that You can be in. Out of control. Climbing and being on top is great and exciting. So is "getting up and starting over in" a way. Falling sucks beause there is nothing You can really do until You hit the ground. One You hit the ground - You can give up and stay down or You can get up and start over. Since Kings are falling - there is nothing to be done except to prevent the inevitable which isn't good because the deeper You fall the harder it is to climb up again. Everyone shoud be able to realte to this in some way.

This summer I read somwhere that Maloofs were very impressed with Muss when they interviewed him. aAfter 20 hames into this season - I am beginning to wonder were the other candidates. So I made the list of people that I think are less competent than Muss. It wasn't easy.

Gilbert Gottfried - his language was just a little over the top
Gary Coleman - Maloofs couldn't see him sitting on the chair so they thought that he didn't show
Talking Gecko - way too smooth
Carrot Top - not focused enough. Way too all over the place.
Borat - communication problems
Dell Kid - missed the appointment because he was too stoned to know even what year it is.
Kevin Federline - started singing in middle of the interview and since we already have one horrible singer on the roster - there would have been too much competition in terms of who would sell less albums.
O.J. Simpson - his cuts were way to hard.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Trade or not to trade - is that really an issue at this point ? Does it really matter what kind of change there will be. We already look like a team of zombies outh there. Sometimes - I think even inmates on deathrow show more enthusiasm. Personally as long as we keep Kevin - everyone else can go. Maloofs aren't in the business of spending money anymore so we can expect to get rid of everyone who is close to renegotiating a new deal. What a way to build consistancy. Isn't this the way that Clippers handeled things all the time until recently ? Hey, at least gives us things to talk about. Imagine we would only talk about way Kings have been playing lately. Talking about hard liquor and antidepressants.

Here is how You know when Your team sucks in no particular order.

-when all You feel after a win is a relief
-when Your starting PF isn't playing but You didn't really notice it because it made no difference
-when You need shorthanded Hawks at home to snap a 5 game losing streak.
-when Jason Hart plays as a regular part of the rotation
-when You can look at the standings only after You turn it upside down.
-when You are afraid to look at the schedule because all You see are potential losing streaks.
-when You can spend time writing this while having the game going in the background because You can't watch anymore.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
We beat the Hawks whatever that means. Hawks were so bad that none of their startes scored in double figures. In fact the scored combined as much as one guy that came of the bench. They turned it over 25 times. Basically we won bt default because this tonight was not a basketball game. Win is a win as long as we know how much it is worth it. From that standpoint - good job guys.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
AWARD TIME
TDM award goes to Stoudamire who was 4 points shy of a career night. He must be a guard.
LW-WC award went to Hawks starting 5 which might be the worst I have seen in a long time.
JHA goes to Potapenko. All I want to know is where the hell do we find them ? How ? Why us ? He should sit next to Mo Taylor. I wouldn't even trust them to wave a towel.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Warriors are next and if you don't remember the last time we played them - it was on national TV and we got killed by BD. They are as bad as we are recordwise but they have beaten some good teams and they are pretty good at home. They have injury problems but they will be tought to play again. We could use a win considering the next 3 games but we can't count on it. Who knows - maybe a trade happenes;)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mike - what a leader!
SAR - shouldn't You usually have a great game against Your former team ?
Ron - I hope that this isn't as healthy as he will get
Brad - finally some good news for one of my fantasy teams.
Kevin - You know what - looks like a carbon copy of Pedja more and more but thet is a good thing - right ?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
KT - other than abusing Walton this was his best game as a King.
Corliss - very nice
Salmons - keep it up
rest - mateen
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Muss - You have got to be kidding me man ! Wasn't he the one that made Arenas leave GS ?
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Warriors next which means another tripple double for BD. More bad news - Murphy played tonight too. They massacred us last time. It was sad to watch. Maybe we will turn it around this time - maybe we won't. TDM award will go to Matt Barnes. LW-VC award hopefully to Dunleavy.
I hope that Kings can win it but I am not to confident about it.

DAMN YOU SPURS !!!

EDIT: Okay, I panned this latest effort at first, but after re-reading it, I have to admit ... it's vintage piksi. I guess my euphoria over tonight's stunning victory momentarily blinded me to reality.

HAHA!! I actually was entertained by the sarcasm in this piece Piksi.:D I can't help but agree with most of what you said...and that has nothing to do with my loyalty towards our beloved Kings that I have loved and always WILL love as long as they are here in our fine city of Sacramento. Until there is more effort from our guys, I have no problem taking a more candid look at the efforts put forth by our team...it sure beats the hell out of watching with the nausia created from the lack of effort on the court.

He also traded away Antawn Jamison, not sure whether Jamison asked to be traded, or if it was just a desperate attempt to keep his job.

Musselman's original starting 5:
Gilbert Arenas, Jason Richardson, Mike Dunleavy, Antawn Jamison and Erik Dampier, with Troy Murphy, Adonal Foyle, Bob Sura, Danny "Flagrant" Fortson and a few mateens on the bench. Not that bad a roster, really, if they didn't disgrace themselves by playing Fortson.

The unedited version was exactly the same except for one word that was changed in three different spots.

I thought it was freaking hillarious!

"

Fantastic...

Not certain about it, but kinda remember reading at the time, that Muss wanted Arenas to stay. Due to the league rules then, Warriors were unable to make a good offer to Arenas (I think they were restricted to the MLE if I remember correctly, since he was a second round pick and they were over the cap). Muss apparently implored the management of clearing up cap space to keep Arenas, but that didn't happen. Arenas too kept making the right noises about staying in Golden State, till the Wizards came with the green. Don't know though if he was unhappy with Muss or not.

Actually, Muss had a pretty good run at GS. He improved upon the record considerably, and was able to develop some kids too. Of course, the two are likely related. Warriors stunk bad at that time, got 3 good guys in the same year, the record improved dramatically, and Muss ran away with the credit.

This is true. Arenas even wanted to stay, but St. Jean couldn't (or wouldn't) work out the dollars. They've made some really dumb trades under St. Jean.

OK, my concerns about this Warriors game are:

1) Have we managed to figure out how to stop a fast break yet?

2) Our starters have played together so little so far that we still haven't figured out our offense. Even against the Hawks we barely scored 6 points in 6 minutes to start the game. Doing that against the Warriors will end up just like last game.

3) Warrior's still have a lot of unhappy memories from getting their a$$es kicked from us the last several years and they get up to play us probably more than most teams.

Possible good things:

1) Bibby actually found his shot last game.

2) Miller is getting enough minutes which hopefully means the offense will run through him most of the time. Although the Warriors play up on him and makes that a little more difficult.

3) Into the last game, Martin started to look like his old self, right before we got a huge lead and he spent the rest of the time on the bench. So he's still an uncertainty.

4) Artest looked good. If he's feeling better, we really need his hustle.

Things may look bleak, but remember, it can still get worse!

:(

Is anyone watching the kings pregame....what the heck is up with the random people hamming for the camera in the background? It looks pretty bad, lol.

GO KINGS!

I don't want to be "painful" (well, maybe a little) but it is hard and I really mean hard to find positive things right now.
I understand completely. You are not the "cause" of no good news. ;) Besides, you deliver "not much good news" in a way that makes me laugh.:D I love the Kings and will keep up the hope that there is good news sooner rather than later.
