You are right that they work on it more in practice. These preseason games is where they should be executing that practice. Unless they are practicing completely different lineups every other day, there should be some kind of set lineup.

Then that's crappy team construction and it's on geoff. Either way, as a coach you don't compound the problem by running it like junior high tryouts.

Similar to the lineup of Reke/Beno/Casspi/JT/Hawes. The It/MT/Reke/JT/Cuz lineup didn't win more than the considerably less talented lineup of 09-10.

Sorry, just watch untouchables and felt like using the quote. I don't know how to turn this franchise around any more than It appears Geoff or smart do. What I do know is enough basketball history that this current path isn't the way to do it. The parts don't fit and the coach doesn't seem to know how to find a way to maximize the talent that is there.

If I'm a player on this team, what exactly do I understand my role to be? If this continues, I guarantee we are going to start seeing it reflected in on-court body language, shoulder-shrug comments and ultimately play.

Maybe this is just pre-season but after similar shenanigans last year, I'm worried.

Gotta love "Smart" on the Reke at SF stuff. You get the feeling if Smart was playing Russian Roulette he'd load another bullet and keep on playing after shooting himself in the head just to confirm.

Ive never seen it. but back to the point you and rainmaker all you can say is you don't like what started tonight but neither of you can give me a lineup that you think works. Just bashing the lineup smart makes. I mean this is not a team on the brink of winning a championship. to me we are finally on the right track. we are trying **** out and seeing what works best. thats how you start. WE ARE JUST STARTING. trying to hurry and get to the finish is why we 6 years removed from the playoffs. quick fixes and plugins got us in this postion. careful thought and trial and error is way you start.

It is terrible. He really has no idea how to use him. As a result he screws with the entire lineup and rotations trying to make it work. Surely by now he should have figured out what works the best. I think I will give it a few weeks into the regular season before I go crazy if Reke is still being thrown around in all different kinds of rotations.

Look at the suns rotations. A similar team rebuilding (but with less potential star power). Close to the end of preseason, 10 guys have played with the starters getting the bulk of the minutes. On the other hand, we're having a cluster-f'n bake sale where everyone gets a little something but no one really goes home happy.

I don't think anyone would have it still in his position. Some days he is slashing. Some days he is running iso's. Some days he is a shooting guard. Some a point. Some a backup small forward. Probably is hard to tell which basket is his by this point in time.

my guess is Smart is trying to figure a way to get 4 guys 30 min at 2 postions lol. that is why he is stumbling on this so much at this point. Bringing Brooks in really handcuffed smart if you ask me. although I like Brooks it just confuses everything.

How does it confuse anything? Brooks only plays one position. There is either minutes for him there or not.
