Kings vs. Lakers Prediction thread for Friday's game

Ostertag and Miller will have their way with an out of shape Vlade. I gree that Miller will get dunked on by Odom though.

well, i don't think we lost to those teams simply because they were "too tough for us to beat". they were good teams, but the kings were struggling to get on their feet as well.
if we meet the same teams again now i'd say the outcome might be different.

both the kings are the lakers went through a lot this summer. i will no discount the home court advantage and the fact the lakers can have a good game and would be just tough to beat as dallas, seattle...ect, but kings seems to have gradually shaken off their struggles and are actually improving their weaknesses.

i have good feelings about this game. i think we;ll do well.

by the way, prediction:

4 players with 20+ points
chris will come close to a triple double.
peja will score close to 30, including 5 3pointers
miller will guard the area inside the paint

and bibby will get more rebouds than anyone else :D

Kings need to control the pace or Lakers might just run us over with their new found athleticism. We can beat them easily in the half court set but the Lakers are going to want to run.
Times changed, eh :)

Lakers by at least 30.
That won't happen even if the Kings play the enitire game with their backups. And something tells me that they won't. On second thought they should play their second stringers quite a bit and give the Lakers a little bit of hope and let them think that they can catch up with us.

I think that we are giving undue importance to the Lakers. We should never take any of the games lightly but the Lakers are not one of the teams that we should be concerned about this season. Its just another game and an addition to the W column. But will love it when we kick their butts at their own home .:)

They just finished showing Game 4 of the 2002 WCF when Horry hit the game winning 3-point shot - the Lakers were a very different team then. The good ol' days... As far as this thread, as much as I like the Lakers to win, the Kings have won 6 games in a row, and are getting their grove. The Kings might pull it off but I'm going with my boys - Lakers by 6.

You're right...it'll probably be more like a 40 point blowout.

The Kings are already scared :D . Please don't scare them any more ;)
:D

But seriously, I expect a very close game. The Kings have been poor on the road this year, while the Lakers have played extremely well at home. Add in the fact that this is Vlade's former team and that the Lakers will be pumped to beat their first good Western team this season, and you can expect a close game for sure.

I pick the Lakers to win by 5, though, as Odom has historically owned Webber quite badly (especially last season), and because the Lakers' pick and roll D on Bibby is much improved with Mihm and Odom able to come out and show much better than Shaq did on picks.

...Eh, not really... Even in '02 we were really not "athletic" or a running team.

That was the Mavs and to a lesser extent the Nets. I'd say last year's Heat too.

Haven't watched any Heat games this season (despite how bloody many they've shown! )

Seriously speaking, when they traded Shaq I had said that they wouldn't be as bad as most of the others thought. And I even agree that they might have a shot at the playoffs. So it should be a good game.
As far as Odom owning Webber; I will discount the last season. He was in no shape to be judged. I am predicting a good game for Webber, but if not than I will have some catching up to do in the next Prediction game :(
And Bibby is the kind of player who will find a way to improvise and adapt.

From a neutral point of view I think that the Kings are a better team.

If LA wins, I'm gonna come in here and troll. How's that?
That's fine. And I'll be here, "minding the store."

*POOF* dust does come in a variety of dosages, you know.
