The other question is why is he getting 12 attempts in one half? How anyone can quote my post about refs and not acknowledge that BS is beyond me. There’s no defending what we witnessed tonight. I already know the Kings choked that 4th quarter away but it should’ve never gotten that close to begin with and some of that was not just on them alone. Our guys couldn’t be physical when we wanted to be because we weren’t allowed to touch them in the same way.
Not to nothing I counted a few push-offs near the end immediately in between Fox getting mauled on the other side.

Was annoying.

I'm also just sick of no Keon Ellis. We suck on defense. He's good on defense. Find a way to make it work Brown, this is dumb. You're supposed to be a defensive minded coach, how about we put one of our only good defenders on the floor for 20 MPG
I really don’t know what more Keon and even Kessler can do to prove that they should get more minutes when the main rotation hardly ever plays defense. It’s been a real mystery.

Once again the growth this team needs to have.

We're 22-8 vs the West sans 0-6 vs NOP and Hou. That's freaking bonkers.

But god damn we have some real frustrating losses that easily could have us top 4 in the conference. We have an incredible record (frankly) vs the top tier teams in the NBA but we just punt it away with games like this. Frustrating, frustrating, frustrating.
Yup. We’d be top 3 in the west if we’d simply decorate the Golden 1 center with different colors and somehow convince these guys we’re playing in another city. The difference between our squad at home and on the road is something i dont think i have ever seen before. It’s typically the reverse.

Yeah I don't get it. What's the worst that can happen at this point? Either we want to commit to being a playoff viable defense or not. You do that with good defensive players.

I would have loved to see them get a shot against white and derozon. Kevin was getting cooked.

Wow i didn’t even realize Keon didn’t play. Absolutely bizarre after the showing he had in Minnesota and I’m a huge Mike Brown fan. Did we challenge anything tonight? Just a poorly coached game overall, even though foul trouble through rotations and timing off. He’ll be better though, I’m not worried - just annoyed.

Derozan was absolutely scoring on Keegan as well, especially after Keegan realized he wasn’t allowed to breathe on the guy.
Don't think so. This is only after he got it going. Like I said, this is what happened when you decide to let Barnes guard him. Derozen is licking his chopsticks every time he sees Barnes. Seriously, why is Keegan not guarding him in multiple possessions?

He should’ve ate some of Monk’s minutes tonight. Monk is the worst defender on our team and never gets called out for it. It’s really crazy. He has no defensive accountability because we need his offense off the bench
Pisses me off. Terence Davis, an offensive bench spark plug, was singled out for defensive mistakes all last season. You're right, Monk never seems to be held accountable

I meant Len not Sabonis. Lyles was hot garbage all night while Len actually played decent.
I dunno, Len played ok ,not great, but Lyles definitely had a poor game along with Monk.....if either one of them play better, the Kings probably pull it out......too bad, so sad

Why does it feel like a red flag when king go up big early? You never get the sense that they are safe with any big leads. Feels like more often than not whenever they go up big they will eventually give it up in the 4th quarter. Kings don't know how to play with big leads.

We go up big then Refsketball happens

So is Barnes. He's a weak defensive player. It is the reason why I had preached since last year to replace him. It's not that he can't score...but he's not a two way player, never had been. He's weak, doesn't have strong frame, not lengthy enough to bother anybody, not tough enough to intimidate anybody, doesn't bother anybody, doesn't do the extra to help the team, not a good help defensive player either. Only reason he's still with the team is because they need his offense and his attacking ability. But the team need more of the two way players to stay competitive, not one way like Barnes and Huerter.

Too much Keon and Kessler with Davion and you risk tanking your offense. To be honest, as I alluded to earlier, I think the momentum switch came from the late third quarter with a rarely seen bench unit since we usually stagger Fox and Sabonis.

And it wasn't because of the defense, it was because of the offense.

Defense just sealed the deal later, but it started with a sputtering offense.

So are the woes of a shooting team. When the Kings get hot offensively they roll. The offense slows and it's usually missed shots headed into a butt whooping on the other end haha.

How Davion keeps getting minutes when you have Keon on this team is the biggest conundrum and coaching fail in the league right now.

The one complaint I did have on our end was the decision to have our best defender on their worst offensive player for much of the first half. Ayo was cooking Kevin and we would have likely been way up at half if it wasn’t for that.

I like Ellis also, but Mitchell at least had another strong performance, imo. He's not playing in the robotic fashion he was playing earlier in the season. He's much more instinctive in his play and his decision making was very good. If Mitchell can continue with such play I don't see why Ellis and Mitchell couldn't play in the same back court at times.

True, but there is something to be said for looking for a change of pace if a team is abusing you in certain ways. It's like with Len, you can slot in defenders and they'll at least defend. Rebounders will rebound from the first play. If the offense slides you go back.

Get the absolute F out of here with this. Caruso was like for 9 yet was probably the biggest player on the Bulls team for a long time. Caruso's defense kept them in the game, his offense was ugly and non existent but because he was so damn good defensively the Bulls stayed close to us.

Again, the only thing I can come up with is that they're still showcasing Mitchell, hoping to up his value for an off season trade, since they were not able to move him at the dead line. Also hoping that it doesn't hurt the team down the stretch, but willing to take that risk because the team isn't a contender yet
