[Game] Kings v. Pelicans 1/28/16. 5PM PST, 8PM EST.

Game Over......... This is why I try never to get excited about kings basketball, because I know that give it a couple of weeks and they still start disappointing you again.

I said it when they won a few games in a row and I will say it again...do not fall for this trap the Kings attempt to throw at you. It's nothing but pie in the sky and a short term mirage to give a perception of hope when in reality there really isn't any at all.

Lack of Rudy Gay really hurting. No other reliable scorer beyond Cousins. Casspi isn't a high volume shooter.

I mean the Pelicans are playing without their two best players and they seem to be doing just fine...no excuse here. This game should be closer than it is.

A big part of it is Rondo's defense. Watch it. Very often he's caught in the middle of nowhere trying to play the passing lanes or whatever it is. That leads to guys getting wide open for 3. That's not scheming - that's Rondo not sticking to a man.
It's more than just him...Karl came out in the beginning of the year and said as much.....I'm 100% sure of this. Not saying Rondo doesn't get lazy but George said part of the scheme is to invite the 3

I know this is not s time to talk trades but I have a small list of guys to trade.

I have maintained that we shouldn't shake up this team mid season but I am over that.

Very good response!! I agree with you 100%

Yes he did. And considering the dominant type of basketball being played in the NBA today, Id say his comment were grounds for firing.

I remember, after our start last year, Kendrick Perkins (allegedly) made a comment in the Thunder locker room to the effect of, "I don't care what their record is, they're still the mother****ing Kings!" Every time we don't make him eat his words, I die a little inside.

He isn't lying. The Kings can't seem to shake that loser mentality that they have hanging over their heads. That short stint of being in the 8th seed was a false perception of the team maybe turning the corner...I know they missed Rudy the last two games but it's always something going on. If it's not Rudy hurt, then it's Cousins, if it's not Cousins then it's Rondo. It's always something coming along for the ride to bring everything where it belongs.

Grant actually hit it on the head.
It seems like they're not running any plays.

I've been saying this all year. Our offense late in games devolves down to guys taking turns jacking shots. There's no way that Quincy Acy spotted up in the corner for three is the ideal outcome of a critical possession when we're trying to cut into the Pelicans' lead. We just shoot ourselves in the foot over and over again. Winning teams know exactly who their scorers are and where to get them the ball. Our approach seems to be more abstract art. If you look at it sideways... it still doesn't make any sense.

If Collison can't make an open three, he is on my chopping block.

Collison is more of a guard that likes to dribble and shoot rather than spotting up. He isn't that effective when receiving the pass and just shooting it, at least from what I see. Too many players that can't consistently shoot from deep.

It seems like other teams are loaded with spot up, three shooters.

Yet the one the Kings do have isn't being utilized as one. The other one does not play and does not have any significant NBA minutes so therefore we don't know what the Kings have in him.
