[Game] Kings v. Pelicans 1/28/16. 5PM PST, 8PM EST.

Cousins 11-24 26pts 10rebs 6asts 5blks 6tos. 11/24 is almost 50% if he had made 1 more.

Collison 4-10 8pts 3asts. He got called for a bunch of BS fouls and should've had some of his own.

The biggest reason why we lost is because WCS didn't know how to guard Anderson for poopoo. Can't sugar-coat it, but he's a rookie. Rondo was straight up ass on defense, but he at least gave us something on offense. Collison was more bearable, but he sucked there too.
26 points on 24 shots will lose you a lot of games....

They Pelicans were without their 2 best players (by far) and the Kings have been playing well of late and appeared to have turned the corner and they got worked from the get go and didn't look like they belonged on the court. I can go on but I don't need to.

The Blazers did the same thing, I know...they were on a back to back but those two games were no different to me and this game they had some time to rest up and get it together but you see what happened instead.

.The biggest reason why we lost is because WCS didn't know how to guard Anderson for poopoo. .
Willie only played 15 minutes. He's not the biggest reason we lost. I wouldn't expect Willie to guard Ryan Anderson anyway. Willie can guards out to 15 to 17 feet. It's not fair to expect Willie to guard out to the three point line yet. That's a job for Omri or Rudy if he would toughen up and put on goggles.

I just wonder though, if we fire Karl in the offseason, what coach is going to want to come here? Thinking that there's a good chance he will probably get fired too. I mean, mean's went through what? 15 coaches over the last decade? lol
We have the best center in the NBA, Willie, Ben, Omri and Rondo who is 90% going to return IMHO....not to mention rotational players who are halfway decent or trade chips (KK, Darren, Rudy) That's a core group of players that can attract a quality coach.

Its 1 FG under .500.

It just won't win them for you. We, as usual, scored plenty of points. That's not the problem in Sacramento. This might have been a Top 10 scoring game on the season for your Jazz. The problem is, as it has been forever, on the other end.

The Kings from now on should never trade or sign a player who does not bring it defensively in 95% of games. Marco is making PDA's signing of Landry look amazing at least Landry was injury and never got much of a chance to hurt us. I don't understand what our guards actually do on defense, I can't belevie Dc and Rondo both being crazy athletes are this bad on defense.

I'm just completely out of idea's the basketball gods have made up for the fact Cuz missed 7 games due to injury by giving us depleted team after depleted team and our guys don't even play hard. WTF is actually going on why can't we have a team just once in a decade come out and play hard.

We're good on offense despite running no plays at all. Its the offensive talent from Boogie, Rudy and Rondo alone that keeps us in games. Boogie is putting up all star numbers despite being missused.
And the defense is just as bad as the offense. The problem is that we are not as talented on defense to make up for it. This is really the area where we would need the coaching staff to focus on and make our team better than the sum of its parts. But quiet to the contrary, we're a worse team on defense than our talent level would let you to believe. We have to spend so much energy in trying to score quick and run at every opportunity because we dont have plays that would allow us to score effectively in the half court. As a result, we take possesions off defensively and don't have the mentally that the most important thing is to stop the other team from scoring.

So we lost the game because Willie, who only played 15 minutes in the game couldn't defend Ryan Anderson. Anderson hit three 3 pt shots on Willie in the first quarter. Two of them because Willie played a little too far off of Anderson. The third one he contested just fine and Anderson hit it anyway. It happens. Most of the rest of Anderson's scoring came with someone else guarding him. It's hard to guard someone when your sitting on the bench. When Willie finally got back into the game at the end of the 2nd quarter, Anderson tried to post him up and missed the highly contested shot. He also missed a corner three with Willie guarding him. Was Willie perfect? No! Your right he's a rookie and he's still learning the league. But if you think he's the biggest reason we lost the game, then I don't know what to say.

How about Belinelli letting his man stroll down the lane to the basket uncontested. Belinelli isn't a rookie. Our overall defense, especially on the perimeter was downright terrible, but what's new. It was terrible in the previous game as well, And the game before that. Anderson played 40 minutes last night, and Willie played 15 minutes. So whomever was guarding Anderson for the other 25 minutes doesn't get any of the blame huh? Well done there!

We lost because of the horrible 1st quarter play. The entire team was unmotivated, but you can't over look the fact that Anderson completely went off in the 1st quarter and a lot of it was due to WCS. WCS let Anderson dominate him and set the tone for the rest of the game.

1st Q
Anderson starts the game 4-5 for 10pts.

After WCS benched? 3-6 9pts including a putback.

2nd Q
WCS on the bench, Anderson goes only 1-3 for 5pts.

WCS comes back with 2mins left, Anderson immediately goes 2-2 for 7pts.

First half, WCS guarding Anderson? He goes 6-7 for 17pts... Keep in mind, WCS only played around 8 1/2mins...

First half total? 10-16 31pts. 2nd half? 3-9 5pts. He played about 20mins each half.

So yes, I do blame a lot of this loss on Willie's inability to guard Anderson. Do I fault him for it? No because he's a rookie. He'll learn and get better.

I still think that "a lot of the loss" is a bit much if you look at how NO's big run came immediately after Iske swapped Ben and Willie for Marco and Anderson:
