I feel like, with proper coaching, Rudy can be a player. He beasted for Malone.
Definitely needs more hand holding than most fringe allstar types.
3rd option. Which ain't a bad thing. Just needs the heat off to thrive.

Stats have said that the Kings are literally a 14 win a season franchise for the last 3 years without Cousins. That's the reality the anti-Cuzzes have never wanted to face. 14-68 to 15-67. Then its Cuz's fault he can't lift that to 40 wins, while missing some games every eyar which are inevitable losses too.

The reality is no one knows what we are trading for him......so yes this current team would be worse but your not just losing the 15-17million Cuz makes for nothing. 14 win team with a chance to get a 1st pick (no thanks to Vlade) > sub 30 win team stuck in no man's land.

The problem I have with this is people think just cuz we trade cuz, they think things will be better with the same FO and the same type of coaching we've had the last 10 years.
It's gonna take trading cuz for some here to FINALLY realize, "maybe it wasn't cuz after all."

We already know it's not all Cousins fault that's clear the GM/Coach and supporting cast are all to blame, but to pretend there is no chance to get better or worse without him does not make sense. Vlade banked on the wrong core and coach (never fired him), I have been saying all season Rondo/Gay/Cousins is AWFUL if your trying to win anything not fantasy related.

The flip side to that is if we trade cousins and suck worse I guess that's what it'll take for the people that hate cousins to finally get it that he was not the problem all along. The problem of course is that it'll be another decade or three before we get another player like him.

There are no other stars trying to elevate 14 win teams. None. Zilch. Zero. In fact in many cases the guys called "superstar" by the idiot masses are called such because their teams are .500 teams without them. Then they come on, add the same 15+ wins Cuz adds, only it amounts to 55 wins because the rest of the team can play.
And while I sincerely appreciate gamblers in all their stupidity for the occasional contributions to my wallet, while you are wandering the 14 win wasteland chasing #1 picks the odds of you landing another 27-11 player are incredibly poor, let alone the odds of doing better. Its been since 2003 that somebody drafted at that spot was clearly better than Cousins. And whatever marginal gains you might fabricate in your mind by getting Blake, Brow or maybe one day Towns are hardly worth camping out at the bottom of the lottery when you already have an equivalent player here. Meanwhile you can get your #1 and end up with Bargnani, Bennett, Oden, or 2nd tier stars like Irving.
Its a dumb thing to even hope for.

Why would you want that? Fans have gone crazy with grief. I half expect to hear about Kings fans throwing themselves off the Tower Bridge any day now. Its over the top.
Vlade's philosophy is fine.
Cousins is fine.
Karl will be axed.
Vivek appears to have stayed out of it. Wanting him to reappear as a meddler is flat insanity.
The new coach will be telling. Then a summer of rational work.

I can't stand the raiders but I have to point to what they did. They blew the entire thing up. Fired everyone, except the owner. Actually, Al died so the owner changed to. Along with all that, the team admitted that what they had been doing the past decade wasn't working. It was a change of philosophy.
Take a look at the raiders now. It's taken 4 years but they are up and coming.

George Karl is the coach. has been the coach for over a year. His hiring (and Vlade's) was the last confirmed time we have for Vivek being involved.

Vivek is going to remain the owner. Not much one can do there. Along with time and losing, hopefully he steps off like Mikhail Prokhorov did and writes a nice big statement to the fan base about how he will no longer meddle and understand that it's a process building a winner, it doesn't happen instantly. So one would hope, other than that, having a GM who knows what he is doing would be helpful too. This off season will be very telling for Vlade, it will show what direction he is looking to go towards.
