nothing to scoff at indeed!
this is a real test of the Kings skill and resolve....the lakers are a star studded talented group of .... talent!!!! we should be so proud of this veteran loaded kings team for their courage in standing up to this up and and up, on fire lakers team.

heres a serious answer....
if we play like we did tonight we LOSE against 90% of the league... straight up... we didn't beat the lakers... i saw the same garbage lineups and same garbage play we have seen AGAIN AND AGAIN.... loss after loss...
ITS NOT LIKE WE FIXED TONIGHT WHATS WRONG ALL SEASON. we just played a team worse than us currently. guys coming off injuries, no coach... blah blah this wasnt a big win.
IT WILL ONLY KEEP COACH DAVE THINKING THAT KOUFOS STARTING IS A GREAT IDEA! SO HE WILL STAND PAT AND WE CAN GET OWNED THE NEXT 20 GAMES OF THE SEASON.

the fact we feel like this was an achievement is a testament to just how pathetic and dire this season has become already.

Temple was +41 tonight .... lead the team....he's part of all of our best lineups ....all the line ups that have to come back after the Coach's failed stubborn lineups give up the lead and get about 10pts down to start the game....
THEN AFFALO STARTS THE FIRST 20 GAMES.... THEN BEN GETS THE NOD..... SOOOO COACH DAVE IS A RETARD .... the only thing this W did for me tonight was highlight why we are only going to win maybe 30 games this year.... thanks coach !!!! maybe after 82 games you will stop starting Koufos and maybe starting your best SG on this freaking team

this coach seriously .... even tonight.... Koufos and Cousins.... the only reason this worked is that the Lakers are like all 12 years old...injured and mentally collapsing.
Koufos and Cousins made no sense .... Cousins on Randle? ... Cousins on Boris Diaw? Cousins on Porzingis or Carmelo? Cousins on Crowder? Cousins on markieff morris? its too bad we can't trade for Marc Gasol so this crap system the Coach is set on running might actually force teams to adjust to US... instead of Koufos just getting us burned on defense and offense

I can only speak for myself, but in no way did I say or do I feel "All our troubles are over!" I think some folks just happen to like it more when we win vs. when we lose especially against the Lakers.
As far as Koufos still starting, no I don't like it much. However he is still starting because when you REALLY get down to it, no one has stepped up to prove "I AM THE PF" so Koufos it is for now.

After Granddaughter Saraya and Troy went to last Laker Game When they were the NBA Darlings and kicked our ass, I was worried since in that Game all the Laker fans were absolute rude awful ugly vulgar was actually scaring Grand daughter and Troy. I guess now after loosing 6 games they came into G1C maybe a little more humbled or maybe the Rude Laker fans stayed home tonight. in Second Qtr when they were winning they came alive a little with some Lets Go LA chants, But hey did shut up in the 3rd Qtr , When Cuz kicked their Buts. When the bench came in with a 20 pt lead near end of the 3rd with Ty,Affalo,Caspi,Tolliver, Willie I got real worried about the bench being able to score, the bench let the lead drop to 14 pts and I was worried Dave would not put Cuz back in in time, but thank goodness bench kept the lead in 14-15 range, long enough down to 8 min left When Dave did put Cuz back in and we pushed them back to 20pts. Very satisfying to see Lakers Loose, Thank you Cuz,Darren,Omri,Temple The fans really needed this game! I was even happier to see all those Quiet Laker fans walk out of the G1C as pathetic losers instead of rude winners with big heads that have ZERO respect for another teams home. Dang it we just hate this team and esp all those Laker fans that now live here. my chant was La Kers Go Home!!!

not so much in the 1st game where Randle's dealing with an injury .... and if again.... we are gonna use this game as a sign of great coaching .... then we all were brilliant !!!!!! Dave is a genius.... just lucking into a W with the same crap we keep getting destroyed with isn't brilliant .... Randle had a off night... he's played 1 year in the NBA this will happen ... coach gets zero credit for a terrible teams player.... playing terrible...
Deep breaths, man. Absolutely no one is operating under the illusion that tonight's win somehow justifies everything that's happened this season or has show us some mystic path to the NBA Finals. But that doesn't mean that we all need to be all doom-and-gloom all the time.
The team showed improvement tonight, lineups that people have been advocating all season worked tonight, so maybe tonight's not the best time to run screaming through the village square.

Absolutely right! Garrett Temple is rapidly becoming my favorite King. The guy just seems to do everything right. When he and Casspi joined the starters at the beginning of the second half, the Kings started to play some very clever basketball. It looked like a mentality change of the whole team. Despite Tolliver's lean stats line, I liked his attitude. He was looking to pass the ball and the team flowed with it.

Did u see the post game conference??? He says it's amazing how "better things are when shots fall"... yes that's it Dave!!! all year these awful starts and horrible execution fails are just because missed shots!!! Brilliant!!!
just like when he was asked if there was anything HE could do to fix the slow starts he said "no" ... "it's all the players" ... ok cool coach takes no responsibility GREAT!

Koufos plays 19.5 minutes per game. Only Tolliver, Ben and Willie play less minutes. A good part of his minutes are without DMC on the floor.
Temple plays 22.3 minutes per game. Afflalo plays 24.2 mpg. I guess with Afflalos recent play things will change in the future.
Should Temple play more? I definately think so. Should Temple start? I honestly don't care at all. Should Temple finish games? Yes under all circumstances, because he is our best defender and can knock down open shots! But as far as I remember Temple is on the court in most close games in the 4th.
Now, who should start over Koufos?
Willie? You can't be serious. Willie has done nothing to earn minutes. He is coasting through games, his effort level is insulting and he isn't playing like the once in the decade athlete he is. All the athleticism in the world and he isn't using it. In this Lakers game alone, there were 4 situations, where Willie could have prevented the easy basket by quickly rotating or hustling down the floor and he simply stood there watching or trotted back, like he didn't care. He is tailormade for a high energy, weak side help defender, but he doesn't want to play like one.
Matt Barnes? His performances were shaky this season. Sadly he is declining and his body is more suited to play SF, than to play small ball 4.
Omri Casspi? From my point of view, this is the only true alternative to Koufos starting. Casspi spaces the floor, he hustles like crazy and he is bulky enough to play small ball 4. Coach Joerger seems to be realizing, how valuable Casspi can be, because he is giving more and more minutes to him. But Casspi is also needed with our bench unit, because he is one of the guys able to get something on his own on offense and is the best, when it comes to off the ball movement on this team, which makes him a good fit with a pass first PG like Lawson.
Tolliver? His shot isn't falling and when his shot isn't falling Tolliver is basically useless.
I understand the criticism. I'm a supporter of smaller lineups around Cousins and I'm not a fan or Cuz+KK. But it's not like Joerger is an idiot or like he doesn't have a clue, what he is doing with the lineups.
Joerger came into SAC and gave the initial minutes to the guys, he knew like KK and Barnes. He gave minutes to Afflalo, because he was the biggest FA addition in the offseason and of course we should find a way to make it work with Affalo to justify the money, we are paying him. Now he is starting to shake things up. Afflalo is in the dog house, because of his poor performances.
I think Joerger is getting there. We are all frustrated beyond believe. And we feel, like we are running out of time. But Joerger has to manage all the personalities on the team. He has to be cautious not to lose the team.
You don't bench a guy, who you pay 12 millions per year and who you most likely brought in to be your starting SG, right away for a guy like Garret Temple.
If you want to change the culture, you stick to the guys with the right attitude you already know at the start.
And starting big, while playing small for the majority of the minutes isn't uncommon.

I agree with most of what you wrote except saying Tolliver is useless. Tolliver plays good defense, rebounds OK and moves the ball. Last night i saw at least 4 passes he made to set up team mates that were great. If it was me I would start Tolliver and Temple as they defend and are great glue guys. Casspi should play heavy minutes as the 6th/7th man with Lawson. As for Koufos he does win most of the jump balls and bangs with the best of them.
Kosta is very valuable for matching up against Bigs who like to get physical. With Kosta on the floor Boogie soaks up less physical abuse. This physical abuse is accumulative and will lead to Boogie missing games.
Joerger's job is not that easy since there is not really clear cut starters on the Kings except for Boogie and Rudy. While I have my opinion on who should start along with the rest of you Fans I'm not 100% sure my preferred starters play better than Joergers
What I am sure about is that the style of offensive play needs more passing and misdirection. Watching Boogie and Rudy battle the teeth of the defense is fine at times but throw a couple of passes and a fake or two gets the defenders off balance and makes their job easier. The Kings need to keep the defenses guessing on what will happen each time down the floor.
On the defensive side of the ball I am seeing more and more screens where the other teams player setting the screen will move and grab a defender to free up a jump shooter. This has been happening over and over and the Refs don't seem to call it as illegal. The Warriors do it constantly so maybe grabbing defenders while you move during a screen is part of the "new wave" of basketball. You know shoot a lot of threes and set a bunch of illegal screens
