I think it's more of a marketing thing. They know that the casual fan doesn't like DMC so they focus on a "feel good" player/story like IT.

Have to agree with you. Most people I know are first fans of Cousins, then Tyreke. The rest is really spare parts to them... except for Jimmer of course who has a big following.

Also, I'm not sure if we are defining "face of the franchise" the same. I would agree that DMC and Reke are obviously are 2 best players and most important assets. All I was saying in that other post is that I have a feeling the reason the Kings market IT way more than DMC is because he is very likable. Has a charismatic personality, good smile, great story for the last pick in the draft, etc. To the casual fan, that stuff is important to them -- not necessarily who has the most talent.

The world does not revolve around the Grant Napear show, contrary to what you might think. I haven't said you're the only one down on Cousins. I have said you're myopic in your view of Cousins and you try and find any and every opportunity to use the "See, I'm not the only one" excuse. If you're going to do that, you have to be willing to accept the same from those on the opposite side of the fence. That's something Grant studiously avoids doing on his radio show. Anyone who doesn't agree with his "take of the day" is ridiculed, yelled at, etc.

If you're gonna blindly follow Grant and drink his kool-aid, at least be man enough to own it.

Would you consider yourself a casual fan? I would classify casual as a fan who watches a few games here or there. Maybe goes to a game every year. I would never consider someone who calls into a radio show or posts on messages boards casual fans myself.

You asked about casual fans and I gave you evidence of what I would judge to be casual fans calling into Grant's show. Then you ignore my valid argument and try to insult me.

By the way, I actually can't stand Grant. I listen to it because he's on during my commute and I love the Kings. Same reason I post on these boards.
